All-you-can-eat Korean barbecue with a kids' playroom in Daegu

Today’s restaurant introduction is Gankeun Galbi Seongseo Branch (간큰갈비 성서점), located in Igok-dong, Dalseo-gu, Daegu! It’s near Seongseo Industrial Complex Station and Igok Station on Line 2~!

It was on the second floor, and there were lunch specials for ₩20,900/₩21,900 for two people that were great value. There were unlimited-refill options too, or you could order items separately-!

What are the parking and seating like?

It is on the second floor at 71 Igok-dong-ro, Dalseo-gu, Daegu, South Korea, and hours are 12:00–23:30. There is dedicated visitor parking on the first floor of the building.

One big advantage of Gankeun Galbi Seongseo Branch is that the parking lot is right below the restaurant. There is separate visitor-only parking, so you can come without worrying about parking 🤩

Inside, there were lots of four-person and two-person tables, and the chairs and tables were spacious enough for a larger group. I think it would be great for clubs, gatherings, company dinners, and other group visits‼️

There really are not many places with playrooms these days, but this was a large, spacious, and pleasant playroom, so it seems great for coming with children too!!

Cutlery and tissues were in the space beside the table, and there was water for flare-ups plus a grill grate for pork ribs right beside us! You do need to replace the pork rib grate yourself~

Gankeun Galbi unlimited-refill menu and prices

Gankeun Galbi’s biggest feature is its unlimited refills: unlimited pork ribs were ₩19,900, unlimited pork belly plus pork ribs was ₩21,900, and makchang (grilled pork intestine) plus pork belly plus pork ribs was ₩23,900. The price changes as each meat type is added, but unlimited meat and unlimited self bar at these prices... I thought it was such great value!

Alcohol was ₩5,000, and there were meal dishes to have after the meat too, including mul naengmyeon (cold broth noodles), bibim naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles), steamed egg, and doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew)!

There are unlimited-refill options, but you can also order only as much meat as you want separately, so keep that in mind!

They also had customer-convenience notices, such as for Naver reviews, clearing empty plates, and turning off the grill. I really liked that they paid attention to all the things customers might need!

When you order alcohol or meal dishes, this robot delivers them directly 😂😂

A self bar with ramen and bowls of rice

Gankeun Galbi had such a wide variety at the self bar, including unlimited ramen you cook yourself and bowls of rice 😮😮

There were sauce bowls, side plates, salt, pepper, curry powder, pepper, tongs, and scissors too,

plus seasoned fried chicken, tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), fried shrimp, croquettes, and miyeok-guk (seaweed soup)!!

There were pork belly, makchang, pork ribs, pork heart, and pork skin. The meat looked really fresh, and I loved that there was pork heart and pork skin too, so you could try so many things! Since it’s unlimited refill, it’s best to take only what you can eat, right?!

There were so many items, including shredded green onion, kimchi, pickles, sliced onion, ssamjang (seasoned dipping paste), wrap vegetables, and mushrooms. There was even an ice maker, so you can make patbingsu (shaved ice with sweet red beans)! There were soda, juice, and coffee too 😮😮

I grilled pork belly, makchang, and pork ribs

I ordered the unlimited pork belly, makchang, and pork ribs set! At first they give you a flat grill rather than a grate, and you could grill kimchi on it too‼️ There was so much food at the self bar that I lost count of how many times I went back and forth... I was happy 🥹

Even with the grill closed, the heat is extremely high, so you need to keep an eye on it so nothing burns! Still, I really loved how quickly everything cooked~

Because the heat was strong, we could eat quickly haha. Kimchi and mushrooms grilled in the meat fat—need I say more..... 🤤🤤🤤

The meat did not taste cheap at all; it was tender and delicious! They said the pork belly had been switched from their regular pork belly to Gang Bongsu domestic pork belly, and the quality really did feel different! It was delicious dipped in salt or curry powder too..

I tried the pork skin too. Even if you order only the unlimited pork ribs, you can have pork skin and pork heart, so enjoy as much as you like!!

Next, I had the pork ribs! You need to change the flat grill to a grate for the pork ribs, but when I pressed the staff call button, a staff member changed it for me! Maybe because it is Gankeun Galbi, but the pork ribs were really delicious.. 🤩🤩

I cooked the Chapagetti from the self bar that I mentioned earlier, and it was delicious with the meat too‼️

After the meat, I also ordered the doenjang-jjigae that you absolutely have to have!! It was ₩2,000 and had loads of soft tofu and vegetables, plus blue crab, so it was nicely refreshing 😮☺️

Why it was great for families and group gatherings

It is close to Seongseo Industrial Complex Station and Igok Station on Daegu Line 2, the lunch specials are good value, and it was especially nice that the unlimited-refill price includes domestic pork belly! The pork ribs, makchang, and pork belly were all tender and delicious!

There were so many foods at the self bar, and everything was kept fresh, so I think you can eat without worries~! There is also a large playroom and high chairs, so it seems great for coming with children! There is dedicated visitor parking on the first floor too, so come without parking worries!!
