Cheonan Korean BBQ with marinated beef ribs and bibimbap: Euljiro
In short
Euljiro Yeontan Gui Cheonan Buldang Branch is a retro charcoal-grill Korean BBQ restaurant in Buldang-dong, Cheonan, where the meat cooks over briquette fire at the table. A couple ordered pork belly, marinated beef short rib meat, samsuni bibimbap (mixed rice bowl) and doenjang stew (soybean paste stew), grilling kimchi and bean sprouts on the pan alongside the meat. Alternating between the lean pork belly and the sweet marinated beef never got boring, making Euljiro Yeontan Gui a good spot for a slow dinner over conversation.

This time I want to introduce a grill restaurant in Buldang-dong that I visited for dinner with my wife.

These days, nothing beats meat for an easy dinner option.

We were trying to decide what to eat and thought, let's have proper meat for once — so we went to Euljiro Yeontan Gui Cheonan Buldang Branch.
This place grills meat over charcoal fire, so it has a different feel from the usual grill pan setup.

What is Euljiro Yeontan Gui Cheonan Buldang Branch like? A retro grill house in Buldang-dong
Euljiro Yeontan Gui Cheonan Buldang Branch is a charcoal-grill restaurant in Buldang-dong, Cheonan, and its retro atmosphere sets it apart from the sleek grill houses that are common these days. The sign caught my eye even before I walked in, so it wasn't hard to find on a first visit.

Once inside, the space was bigger than I expected, with several round tables set up.

The spacing between tables wasn't cramped either, which made it comfortable for my wife and me to sit and eat.

There are plenty of sleek, modern-looking grill houses these days, but this place had a slightly old-school, retro feel, and I personally really liked that vibe.
What we ordered for two: pork belly, marinated beef short rib meat, samsuni bibimbap and doenjang stew
On this visit, we ordered four things at Euljiro Yeontan Gui Cheonan Buldang Branch: pork belly, marinated beef short rib meat, samsuni bibimbap, and doenjang stew. Once we sat down, the charcoal fire arrived, and we got ready to properly dig into meat at this Buldang-dong grill house.

Since there were two of us, we figured it'd be more fun to try a variety rather than just sticking with pork belly, so we added the marinated beef short rib meat too. Once the pan was set over the charcoal fire, it really had that classic grill house atmosphere.
Side dishes at Euljiro Yeontan Gui before the meat hits the grill
A little while after we ordered, the basic side dishes arrived. Lettuce wraps and various accompaniments came out, all good pairings for the meat.

They also gave us kimchi and bean sprouts, which are essential when grilling meat, and we could put them right on the pan to grill together.
I personally love grilling kimchi or bean sprouts alongside meat, so this combo was right up my alley.
You can dip it in sauce or wrap it up with all sorts of things, so even with just one type of meat, you end up eating it in several different ways.

How is the pork belly at Euljiro Yeontan Gui? Grilled with kimchi and bean sprouts
The pork belly at Euljiro Yeontan Gui Cheonan Buldang Branch was grilled on the pan over the charcoal fire until golden on the outside and juicy inside. I put the pork belly on first, and once it started cooking, I thought, this is exactly why you come to a grill house haha.

I grilled the pork belly until it was cooked just right — golden and crisp outside, juicy inside — and it was good even just dipped in salt or sauce.
Grilling the kimchi and bean sprouts together and eating them with the pork belly cut down on the greasiness, and I kept reaching for more.

My wife tried the pork belly too and said it went really well with the grilled kimchi.

How does the marinated beef short rib meat taste? Sweet and good with rice
The marinated beef short rib meat had a sweet marinade flavor that was clearly different from the pork belly. After eating a fair amount of pork belly, we put the beef rib meat on the pan too, and switching back and forth kept things from getting boring.

With its sweet marinade flavor, it was good on its own and also paired really well with rice.

If pork belly is about enjoying the clean flavor of the meat itself, the beef rib meat, thanks to the marinade, offered the fun of a richer, bolder flavor.

My wife tried it too and said it had its own charm, different from the pork belly.

Samsuni bibimbap: the dish that made dinner filling
When you keep eating just meat, you inevitably start craving rice partway through. So we also ordered a samsuni bibimbap.

Eating bibimbap alongside the meat definitely made the meal more filling. Putting a piece of meat on top and taking a spoonful of bibimbap together turned out to be a pretty great combination.

Looking for a Korean BBQ restaurant in Buldang-dong, Cheonan?
Overall, I enjoyed being able to switch between pork belly and beef rib meat, and grilling it ourselves over charcoal was also fun.
I especially liked being able to sit comfortably with my wife, grilling meat while chatting slowly.

There are so many grill houses around these days that it's hard to decide where to go, but if you enjoy this kind of retro charcoal-grill atmosphere, I think it's worth a visit.

An honest review of dinner at Euljiro Yeontan Gui with my wife
On this visit, we had pork belly, marinated beef rib meat, and samsuni bibimbap, and sharing everything between the two of us turned out to be more filling than expected.

Personally, the pork belly grilled over charcoal at this Buldang-dong grill house, Euljiro Yeontan Gui, was the most memorable, and adding the beef ribs partway through made for a great combination.

This feels like a place we'll think of again whenever we want meat for dinner.

If you're craving meat at a grill house in Buldang-dong, Cheonan, it might be worth enjoying charcoal-grilled meat in this retro atmosphere. We finished up this meal happy and full :)
