Hwaseong meat restaurant with 20-car parking for 30 guests: Morakmorak
In short
Morakmorak Jeongyuk Sikdang Namyang Hwaseong City Hall Main Branch is a beef and pork butcher restaurant at 70 Yeokgoljungang-ro in Namyang-eup, Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do. A couple visited on a busy weekend evening, chose raw pork belly and raw gabrisal at the showcase and had them pre-grilled over charcoal, then finished the 5,000-won-per-person table setting with beef tartare, chilled acorn jelly soup and bone-broth ramyeon. With a private 20-car lot, rooms for 5 to 8 and hall seating for up to 30, Morakmorak works just as well for a family meal as for a full team dinner.

Did you know there's a butcher restaurant near Hwaseong City Hall where you can pick your own beef and pork cuts?

My husband and I went this past weekend to Morakmorak Jeongyuk Sikdang Namyang Hwaseong City Hall Main Branch, a spot that's built up a solid word-of-mouth reputation as a Namyang-eup restaurant. Even during Saturday dinner peak hours when the place was packed, everything from parking to finishing our meal went really smoothly.
Good meat quality is a given, but since everything comes pre-grilled over charcoal, you don't have to worry about your clothes reeking of smoke — such a comfortable way to eat. Having been there in person, I'd say it's perfect not just for date nights but also for family gatherings or big group dinners.
Where is Morakmorak Jeongyuk Sikdang in Namyang-eup, and is parking easy?
The Morakmorak location I visited sits in a standalone building at 70 Yeokgoljungang-ro, Namyang-eup, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do. It's right by Hwaseong City Hall, so it's super easy to punch into your navigation when you're hunting for food around Namyang-eup. Parking is always the biggest worry when you're driving somewhere.

This place has a spacious private lot right next to the building. It can fit about 20 cars, so even during the weekend peak, I could park right away without circling around. I once went to a BBQ place with a tiny lot and ended up driving around the block three times before I'd even eaten... haha. When you're rolling up with multiple cars for a family gathering or a whole office group, a place with zero parking stress is the best — this one really earns points there!!

In-store reservations, group bookings, and takeout are all available. The rooms can be used privately for 5 to 8 people, and the hall group seating can hold up to 30, so it's worth keeping in mind when planning a work dinner.
Inside Morakmorak: seating, private rooms and the charcoal pre-grill service

The moment you walk in, a huge meat showcase grabs your attention right in front of you. You check the freshness and per-gram price of the meat with your own eyes and choose, and then staff pre-grill it over charcoal and bring it to your table. Being able to pick your own cut with your own hands is one of the fun little perks of a butcher restaurant, haha.

The hall was also way roomier and more comfortable than it looked from outside. The tables were spaced generously, so even at full capacity it didn't feel cramped or noisy. Best of all, since the meat comes pre-grilled over charcoal, you don't have to keep flipping raw meat at your seat and breathing in smoke — that was such a relief, haha. After a regular BBQ place your hair and clothes usually reek of meat smoke and you have to throw everything in the wash, but here that worry was way less.

On one wall they had a projector playing footage of a blue underwater aquarium, which was oddly relaxing and gave off a vibe totally different from your typical BBQ joint, lol.

There were also comfy, cushy sofa seats that looked perfect for families dining out with kids. There were quite a few group parties in the rooms and group seating the day I went, and I immediately understood why so many people pick this place for group dinners.
Morakmorak's menu and the 5,000-won-per-person table setting

You choose the cut and amount you want from the refrigerated display and pay for it. The beef side is stocked with everything from two-plus-star Hanwoo sirloin to special cuts like chuck flap and outside skirt, and the pork side has fresh domestic pork belly, pork neck, and galbisal waiting.

After much deliberation, we picked a combo of chewy raw pork belly and lean, mild raw galbisal. Once you hand over your choice, the kitchen sears the outside over high heat like a coating and cuts it into bite-sized pieces before bringing it out.

The table setting fee for adults is ₩5,000 per person. Honestly, when I first heard it was ₩5,000 a head, I thought it felt like a bit of a waste of money. But once I saw the spread that comes with it, my mind completely changed!!

When the table is first set, you get a plate of fresh beef tartare and acorn jelly (dotorimuk) cold soup with floating ice slivers. On top of that, a hearty doenjang stew, rich bone-broth ramyeon, myeong-i namul (wild garlic leaves), and gosari namul (bracken fern) side dishes fill up the table. The beef tartare and jelly cold soup are served once as a base, and side dishes like fern and garlic leaves plus lettuce wraps can be refilled at the self-bar without any hesitation. Weighed against the price of the meat, the whole spread makes the ₩5,000 feel totally worth it.

They even give you tortillas and sauce to wrap the meat in, so making your own taco-style combo was a fun bonus.
How the raw pork belly, gabrisal and bone-broth ramyeon tasted

The raw pork belly and raw galbisal we picked that day had gorgeous color and marbling even before hitting the grill. Sometimes at butcher restaurants that push cost-efficiency, the meat quality can be disappointing, but here, the moment I took a bite the juices just burst out — this is clearly a place that doesn't compromise on meat quality. Since it comes pre-grilled, you just need to brown the outside a bit more on the grill, and it keeps a subtle charcoal aroma while staying juicy inside.

Everything came already cut, so there was zero hand strain from holding tongs and scissors.

The meat is great on its own dipped in salt, but with so many side dishes, mixing and matching made it even more fun.

Wrapping it in fragrant garlic leaves and pairing it with browned bracken fern, I never got bored of it.

The taco-style combo in particular — a piece of meat on a lightly toasted tortilla loaded with vegetables and sauce — was a real standout, lol.

And the one thing you absolutely cannot skip here is the bone-broth ramyeon!!

Instead of plain water, it's a deeply simmered bone broth (sagolyuksu) poured into a pot and boiled right at the table on a burner, and the broth is so rich and savory it clings to every noodle. In the end, my husband and I ended up devouring two whole packs of ramyeon while raving about it, lol lol. Even though we were already full from the pork belly, the broth was so good we couldn't put our chopsticks down...
With the chewy beef tartare mixed with a burst egg yolk, plus the bubbling doenjang stew and a full bowl of rice cleaned out, we ended up completely stuffed. Even with the place packed and staff clearly busy, whenever we pressed the call button they responded quickly and kindly, so we stayed in a good mood the whole meal.
Is Morakmorak worth booking for a family meal or group dinner?
Having been there in person, this is the first place that comes to mind for a weekend family meal.

With kids, the spacious, comfy sofa seats are perfect, and with parents, you can mix and match Hanwoo beef and pork depending on everyone's preference.

The generous private parking lot also makes it a great fit for family gatherings arriving in multiple cars. I'd also strongly recommend it to anyone organizing an office dinner or year-end gathering.

The group seating for up to 30 and the private rooms are neatly separated, and best of all, the meat comes pre-grilled and cut into bite sizes, so the youngest person in the group doesn't have to nervously sweat over the grill, haha. Great meat quality, a hassle-free pre-grilling system, and a hearty table setting that even includes bone-broth ramyeon — with all three boxes checked, I'd 100% go back. If you're looking for a hassle-free-parking, can't-go-wrong meat restaurant around Hwaseong City Hall or Namyang-eup, definitely check out Morakmorak Jeongyuk Sikdang Hwaseong City Hall Branch!!
