Daegu café with tiramisu crepe and four floors: Hands Coffee

In short

Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch is a large café near the Dongchon Resort walking trail in Dong-gu, Daegu. I tried Brunch Set B with a soft jambon-beurre and creamy mushroom pasta, plus tiramisu crepe and milk tea, then looked around its spacious seating across several floors. A great one-stop spot for a filling brunch followed by dessert.

I visited Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch while looking for somewhere around Dongchon Resort where I could have brunch and then relax over a coffee. It is a large café near the Dongchon Resort walking trail, with plenty of space and a varied menu spanning brunch, desserts, and drinks, so it was easy to take care of both a meal and café stop in one go. That day, we had quite a satisfying spread: Brunch Set B, tiramisu crepe, and milk tea.

Once inside, it was much bigger than I had expected. Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch has generous ordering and seating areas, and because it is a large store using multiple floors, there was a good variety of tables too.

Decorated mainly in warm wood tones, the overall atmosphere felt cozy and comfortable.

With so many seating options, it looked nice for two people wanting a quiet chat, as well as for a larger group coming for brunch. When looking for a café near Dongchon Resort, I usually think only of drinks and desserts, but this place has quite a wide brunch selection, so it seemed well suited for a proper meal too.

We ordered Brunch Set B! It comes with a soft jambon-beurre and creamy mushroom pasta, so we could try two dishes at once. At brunch cafés, I sometimes end up ordering only bread or a salad, but having pasta as well made this a satisfyingly substantial meal.

They had a wide range of cakes too! We also ordered the tiramisu crepe~

After a short wait, our order began arriving one by one! Everything from Brunch Set B to the tiramisu crepe dessert!

Brunch and tiramisu crepe

Brunch Set B included the soft jambon-beurre and creamy mushroom pasta. The jambon-beurre was pleasantly mild and savory, while the creamy mushroom pasta was rich and nutty, with mushrooms in a smooth cream sauce. I had thought of it as a light brunch, but the two dishes together were more filling than expected and made a perfectly adequate lunch.

Soft jambon-beurre and pasta

The easy-to-eat soft jambon-beurre

I started with the soft jambon-beurre. The nutty richness of butter and the salty savoriness of jambon ham worked really well together, and it paired nicely with drinks such as coffee or milk tea.

Bread with jambon ham and butter

The bread was soft rather than overly hard, making it easy to eat. With the jambon and butter inside, it was mild yet quietly addictive. It would be good as a light brunch item on its own, but paired with the pasta, it was enough for a full meal.

Creamy mushroom pasta

And then there was the creamy mushroom pasta, which I really enjoyed! Because it is a cream-sauce pasta with mushrooms, its main notes were soft, rich, and nutty. The sauce coated the noodles well, so the creamy flavor came through properly in every bite, while the aroma and texture of the mushrooms were enjoyable too. The jambon-beurre leaned mild and savory, while the creamy mushroom pasta was soft and rich, so alternating between them made for a nice combination.

Tiramisu crepe after the meal

Tiramisu crepe dessert

The tiramisu crepe! Thin crepes were layered together with tiramisu-style cream, and even visually it immediately felt like a proper dessert. The crepe was soft enough to cut through layer by layer with a fork, and the sweet cream with its coffee aroma made it a lovely after-meal dessert.

A slice of tiramisu crepe

I was a little full after the pasta, but somehow there was still room for dessert, haha. I think it would pair even better with a slightly bitter drink such as coffee or milk tea, since that would balance the sweetness nicely.

Relaxed seating on the third and fourth floors

Third-floor seating area at the café
Table space on an upper floor of the café

Up on the third floor, a space with a different feel from the second floor opened up. The tables and seats were laid out generously, so it looked great for lingering over conversation after brunch or staying at the café for a while. Because the space itself was so large, it felt less cramped even with people around, and the variety of tables meant you could choose the seat you wanted.

Fourth-floor seating area at the café

When I went up to the fourth floor, the scale really felt worthy of a large café. Each floor had a slightly different atmosphere, which is another advantage—you can pick the space that suits you that day. The higher floors felt especially open, so it seemed like a great fit when you want to spend some unhurried time near Dongchon Resort. Both the third and fourth floors had plenty of seating, so it also looked suitable for a weekend visit with friends or family.

Overall

  • It is a large café with generous space extending to the third and fourth floors, making it easy to linger comfortably.
  • Brunch Set B, with its soft jambon-beurre and creamy mushroom pasta, was filling.
  • The seating and atmosphere vary a little from floor to floor, making for a comfortable stay.
  • Parking is available, so it is convenient when visiting Dongchon Resort by car.
  • With brunch through dessert all available in one place, it is a good café to visit around Dongchon Resort.
