Daegu brunch café for a relaxed next-morning meal: Hands Coffee

The sky was unusually blue and clear, and it felt far too nice to stay home, so I woke up my breakfast buddy early and headed to a rooftop café with a wide-open view 💖 This is Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch (핸즈커피 동촌유원지점), where you can enjoy brunch along with that open view! ☕️

Exterior and parking

✔️ Hands Coffee occupies floors 2 through 4, and there is an elevator, so getting around is easy :-)

✔️ There is a large dedicated parking lot right in front, so parking stress is zero!

Along with coffee, there are lots of options including brunch and bingsu (shaved ice dessert), so even groups should be able to find something to suit every taste!

Second-floor ordering area and seating

The café starts on the second floor. We could have taken the elevator, but since it was only one floor, we took the stairs for a little exercise :-)

✔️ Brunch is served from 10:00 to 17:00 :-) I had heard such rave reviews about Hands Coffee brunch, haha, so we rushed over first thing in the morning.

You can conveniently order from a kiosk on the second floor!

What kind of seats are on the second floor?

This is the second-floor interior. There are plenty of comfortable tables for two, plus sofa seats for two where you can relax while looking at the lush green view 🌳

The group tables are also in front of big windows, so they are bright and the view is truly lovely ✨ There is coziness to be found amid all that brightness, too 😌

Most of the seating has comfortable chairs, so I noticed lots of people bringing their moms and dads :-) Do you even need to go on a fall outing? Come here, come here! 🌳✨

The second floor combines ordering and seating, so it is handy for ordering more, haha—and it is close to the parking lot too 😌

Third-floor wood interior and openness

Let’s take the elevator up to the third floor ✨ The third floor has a more atmospheric wood interior :-)

Wow… just one floor up, but the sense of openness…!!!! I loved the side-by-side seats looking out over that expansive view. They were my number-one seats in my heart, haha.

The third floor also has plenty of cozy, cushioned seats amid that bright, open atmosphere :-)

Fourth-floor floor seating and rooftop

Let’s go to the top floor!

Wow, there are floor-seating tables here! Personally, I really love sitting on the floor. You can stretch your legs out or sit cross-legged, haha.

Maybe because it was the top floor, it felt like looking out from a high-rise apartment… The weather played a part too! ✨🌳

While looking around, I found that there was a rooftop on the top floor! Out we go, haha.

Ahh, it is a rooftop! With the cool fall breeze, there were quite a few people out there too. You know rooftops are really only for spring and fall, right…!!! Rooftop cafés are precious, so precious 💖💖

We chose a floor-seating table on the fourth floor so we could have a roomy table while enjoying the lush green view :-)

There are lots of brunch sets! ✔️ Brunch can be ordered from 10:00 to 17:00.

The menu is seriously varied. It is great for groups because everyone can really choose to their own tastes—caffeinated, decaf, lattes, and more!

Creamy mushroom pasta and soft jambon-beurre

Before I get into the review, let me give you the conclusion first: this place!!! You will not regret it >___<

☕️ Soft jambon-beurre, creamy mushroom pasta

It arrived on such a pretty two-tier tray 💖 Mushroom pasta on the bottom, jambon-beurre on top!

The scent of mushroom cream and nutty iced Americano coffee was teasing our noses, and my breakfast buddy was practically drooling, haha. Let the eating show begin!!! 😋😋

How was the mushroom pasta?

The wide pasta noodles had such a great texture, and above all, the mushroom cream sauce was thick, rich, and deeply flavorful….!!! The best mushroom cream dish I have had this year!

The snowy cheese, arugula, and cherry tomato toppings kept the cream—which could have become heavy—feeling fresh!!!

What I thought was the secret weapon was the onion flakes! Both the mushrooms and pasta were soft, but the flakes were crunchy, which made it fun to eat. More than anything, the mushroom sauce and onion combination was so, so good..!!!! 💖💖💖

Just how soft was the soft jambon-beurre?

Since it was called a soft jambon-beurre, I had pretty high expectations, haha.

It was generously filled with butter, fresh arugula, and jambon ham 😋

True to the name “soft,” it was not hard when I touched it: crisp outside and fluffy inside!! When I eat bread like this, I want neat bites, but if the bread is hard or the ingredients are chewy, everything spills out the bottom and gets on my mouth… so inconvenient.

But this soft jambon-beurre had wonderfully tender jambon ham and soft bread, so I could take neat little bites, haha.

The acidity of the long black

The coffee had a pleasant level of acidity! Its fragrant aroma and acidity came through together, and I felt the name value of Hands Coffee.

Looking around while we ate, literally every table, including ours, was enjoying brunch, hahaha.

Brunch, all finished today too—💖 This is truly a brunch spot I would absolutely want to bring friends, older sisters, or my mom and dad to for breakfast the next morning if they stayed over for the day! The scenery is beautiful, but the flavor was even more surprising; it became a brunch place whose food I would want my favorite people to try ✨

Lately, the sky seems especially crisp and clear. A fall-morning brunch amid beautiful scenery might make for a more special day than you expect ✨
