Pohang restaurant for white ragù and truffle pasta: Plan A Restaurant

Ocean views right in front of Songdo Beach

I visited Plan A Restaurant (플랜에이레스토랑), a lovely place for a special meal while looking out over the wide-open Songdo sea. With a sea view you simply cannot find in the city, plus delicious steak and pasta, it was perfect.

It is on the fourth floor at 1189 Huimang-daero, Nam-gu, Pohang, Gyeongbuk. Free street parking is available, so I drove there and parked easily along the marked roadside spaces without worrying about parking.

Plan A is located directly opposite Songdo Beach in Pohang, with its wide-open sea view.

On the building’s fourth floor, Plan A is laid out so that most tables have an ocean view. There were tables ready for larger groups too, and some were already reserved when I visited. It is absolutely a place for the view~^^ How long has it been since I last saw the sea? The scenery is simply incredible.

Self-service station and what we ordered

A seat near the water happened to be open, so we sat there. We were given pickles, cutlery, water, and side plates. There was a station for pickle refills, side plates, scissors, wet wipes, aprons, and other simple things we might need.

The menu includes Korean beef sirloin steak for ₩49,000; Plan A beef chop steak for ₩35,000; Plan A chop steak for ₩22,000; Plan B beef chop steak for ₩22,000; truffle aglio e olio for ₩16,000; beef tomato spaghetti for ₩16,000; soupy shrimp spaghetti for ₩16,000; shrimp rosé spaghetti for ₩16,000; carbonara spaghetti for ₩16,000; spicy shrimp cream spaghetti for ₩16,000; Cheongyang chili aglio e olio for ₩15,000; shrimp aglio e olio for ₩16,000; white ragù spaghetti for ₩16,000; beef pilaf for ₩17,000; whole shrimp pilaf for ₩16,000; and mushroom basil cream risotto for ₩15,000.

Just looking at the wide-open, picture-perfect view right in front of us made my eyes feel refreshed—it was healing in itself. As we took in the ocean view, our food began arriving one by one.

Aglio e olio enhanced with truffle aroma

The truffle aglio e olio was ₩16,000.

My husband’s all-time favorite pasta is aglio e olio. This one had truffle aroma added too, and the lovely fragrance filled my mouth—it was delicious.

It had plenty of ingredients such as black olives and garlic, and the noodles were cooked just right.

The best dish: Plan B beef chop steak

The Plan B beef chop steak was ₩22,000. It came piled generously onto a large plate with salad and fries. Steak is Plan A Restaurant’s signature, so I really, really!! recommend trying it.

Look at that glossy chop steak.!!!!! I took one bite and my mouth literally fell open because it was so good. Chili oil gave it a slightly spicy, savory depth, unlike the usual steak-sauce-style chop steak I had eaten before. It is so, so my style!!!!♡

With steak, fries, and salad all together, this was personally my favorite dish. Highly recommended!!!🥰

Rich yet clean-tasting white ragù pasta

The white ragù pasta was ₩16,000.

This white ragù pasta was full of beef, with an appealing thick, rich sauce. Its clean and nutty flavor was so appealing and delicious.

Whenever it began to feel a little rich, I refreshed my palate with pickles and cola!! I usually go for carbonara when eating cream pasta, but white ragù has an appealing nutty, clean flavor without the salty edge.

A family meal by the Songdo sea

We soothed our eyes with the sea scenery, sampled a range of delicious dishes at Plan A Restaurant, a great restaurant in Pohang’s Songdo area, and had a lovely time as a family.

Looking out over Songdo Beach, I was satisfied with both the food and the atmosphere. I think Plan A is a very good choice for a special occasion, family gathering, or date meal.
