On days when I crave meat, just choosing the menu can be a struggle. This time I was looking for a place where I could try a variety of cuts, so I went to Kkotdwaeji Sikdang Gyeongsan Branch, a Gyeongsan favorite 😊
It's located in Oksan-dong, so it's a great spot for dinner in Gyeongsan or for visiting with family or friends for BBQ.
Where is Kkotdwaeji Sikdang Gyeongsan Branch, and where do you park?
Kkotdwaeji Sikdang Gyeongsan Branch is a BBQ restaurant on Seongam-ro in Oksan-dong, Gyeongsan. When I arrived, the first thing I checked was the exterior — the sign was easy to spot, so I found it without any trouble even on my first visit :)

As you can see, it says "Group seating available, parking lot in the back of the building" in big letters!! The parking lot was also very spacious, so even a beginner like me had no trouble parking haha
Inside Kkotdwaeji Sikdang Gyeongsan Branch: seating and restroom
We visited during an early time slot and there were still quite a few diners. I guess meat is popular no matter the time of day 🐷
Walking inside, everything was neatly organized overall. It felt comfortable to eat BBQ with a group, and we could sit and dine at ease.

With BBQ places, meals tend to run long, so the atmosphere really matters. It felt like an easy place to eat comfortably, great for a family meal out or a group gathering 😊
And since we were visiting with elders, having a restroom right inside was a huge plus! The restroom was also clean haha
Kkotdwaeji Sikdang menu and what we ordered

Looking over the menu, we wanted to try a bit of everything, so we first ordered the Kkotdwaeji mixed grill! It seemed like a good choice for a first visit since it lets you taste several cuts together rather than ordering just one.
What we ordered that day was...
- Kkotdwaeji mixed grill
- Special jowl 130g × 2 servings
- Doenjang jjigae
- 2 bowls of rice
That's what we went with 🍚

Side dishes and the self-serve vegetable bar

After ordering, the basic side dishes that pair well with the meat came out one by one.

I especially liked that there was such a variety of sauces and seasonings so you could eat to your taste. This steamed egg was so soft it just melted in your mouth!
Meat tastes great on its own, but eating it with wraps or side dishes changes the flavor along the way, so you never get tired of it :)

That's why this self-serve bar with all the side dishes and vegetables was so handy!! My mom is very particular about whether vegetables have been properly washed, and they were moist, clean, and fresh, so she was very pleased hahaha
Kkotdwaeji mixed grill: several pork cuts on one plate

Finally, the long-awaited Kkotdwaeji mixed grill arrived 🥩 Having several cuts come out at once made it look generous, and I liked being able to compare the slightly different textures and flavors of each cut.
They grilled the meat piece by piece on the griddle until nicely browned 🔥 Normally the waiting time feels longer as the smell of cooking meat fills the air!! But here it came already grilled, so I popped it straight into my mouth!! haha
I tried a well-cooked piece plain first, without any accompaniments.

After that, I ate some with side dishes and some wrapped in lettuce, and the flavor changed a little depending on how I ate it, which made it fun to enjoy in different ways 😊

Adding 2 servings of special jowl (130g)
By the time we'd nearly finished the mixed grill, we still wanted a bit more, so we ordered 2 extra servings of special jowl!

Pork jowl can turn dry if overcooked, but cooked just right, it had a nice chew and let you really taste the texture of the meat itself.

Trying several cuts with the mixed grill first and then ordering more of your favorite seems like a pretty good strategy :)

Finishing with doenjang jjigae and rice
After eating meat for a good while, we started craving warm soup, so we ordered doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) and rice too 🍚 Doenjang jjigae and rice is a combo you can't really skip after BBQ, right? haha Eating the warm stew with rice was hearty and paired perfectly with wrapping up the meal after filling up on meat.

Between bites of meat, spoonfuls of rice, and the doenjang jjigae, before we knew it the grill was nearly empty 😆
Who is Kkotdwaeji Sikdang Gyeongsan Branch best for?
That day, we ate generously from the Kkotdwaeji mixed grill to the special jowl, doenjang jjigae, and rice. If you'd rather try several cuts than stick to just one, or if you're looking for a place to grill meat with family or a group, this is a Gyeongsan restaurant worth checking out 😊
On a day when pork sounds good in Oksan-dong, Gyeongsan, it might be nice to enjoy the mixed grill and special jowl together at Kkotdwaeji Sikdang Gyeongsan Branch 🐷💛
