A pork restaurant in Oksan-dong, Gyeongsan, famous for pork belly Kkotdwaeji Sikdang
Kkotdwaeji Sikdang in Oksan-dong, Gyeongsan: hours and location

⏱️ Open 12:00 - 23:00, closed every Monday. Kkotdwaeji Sikdang is a Gyeongsan pork belly favorite located along the Namcheon riverside — I used to visit this place often a while back, and this time I suddenly thought of it again and went. It opens for lunch too, so it's great for a lunch trip. In weather like this, grabbing pork and then taking a stroll along the Namcheon riverside is really nice.
Where do you park near Namcheon stream?
Kkotdwaeji Sikdang in Oksan-dong, Gyeongsan doesn't have a dedicated lot, but there's plenty of free street parking near Namcheon and lots of alley parking spots. I parked in a nearby alley.
Inside Kkotdwaeji Sikdang: seating and why reservations are a must

This is the interior of Kkotdwaeji Sikdang, the pork belly spot in Oksan-dong, Gyeongsan. The space is split into two areas from the entrance, with about 15 tables mostly seating four.

The slight separation between spaces makes it good for group dinners too. I visited around weekend evening and there were already plenty of people mid-gathering.

I visited with a reservation at Kkotdwaeji Sikdang in Gyeongsan, and arriving right on time, the sauces and utensils were all neatly set up. Weekend evenings get plenty of group parties and families, so I'd recommend reserving ahead.
Kkotdwaeji Sikdang menu and what each set includes

At this Gyeongsan pork belly favorite, you order from a tablet at your table, and there are grilled items and hot pot items. I liked how varied the sets were — the Assorted Grill Set with pork belly, pork shoulder and pork skin, the Daechang Assorted Grill Set with large intestine, small intestine and beef tripe-style cuts, and the Gourmet Set with pork belly, pork shoulder, pork jowl plus garnish. On top of that there are hot pot à la carte items as well as grill + hot pot combo sets, so it's great for visiting with a group.

The Gourmet Set is ₩65,000. I usually love their Daechang Assorted Grill Set, but this time I wanted something a bit cleaner, so I ordered the Gourmet Set that includes the garnish.
Side dishes and the complimentary steamed egg

These are the basic sauces and side dishes set at every table.

A lot of places charge extra for steamed egg these days, but here it comes complimentary. A great warm-up before the meat, good good!

Scooping out small portions of the side dishes and sauces like this felt clean and nice. The seasoned fish roe pairs surprisingly well with the meat.
The 65,000-won Gourmet Set arrives already grilled
The best part of Kkotdwaeji Sikdang in Oksan-dong, Gyeongsan — the meat comes already grilled! With the Gourmet Set, pork belly, pork shoulder, pork jowl, plus garnish of potato, kkwari-gochu and mushroom all arrived neatly grilled.

All pork jowl lovers, gather round!!!!! Just look at this visual, ㅠ the piece size is perfect, grilled just right, and that crisp texture is just... art.

The pork belly needs no explanation, ㅠ. I like meat with more fat, and here the meat-to-fat ratio was just right.

Pork shoulder usually gets dry when I grill it myself so I don't eat it much, but here since it's brought out already grilled, it wasn't dry at all and was juicy and tender.

First bites with salt, then wasabi, then the seasoned fish roe — I ate it all up thoroughly.

The garnish included in the Gourmet Set is great to eat in between bites of meat — it really cuts through the richness.
Stone-pan fried rice fried for you at the end

How can you not eat fried rice after stone-pan pork belly? At Kkotdwaeji Sikdang, the pork belly favorite in Oksan-dong, Gyeongsan, the fried rice comes already stir-fried too. Left on low heat until slightly crisped at the bottom, it's absolutely perfect. This is no accident — it's basically K-dessert.
