Daegu café for Grapefruit La Shower: Hands Coffee

I visited Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch (핸즈커피 동촌유원지점), a Daegu spot known for its views and waffles, in Hyomok-dong, Dong-gu. If you are looking for a large café near Dongchon Resort with a great atmosphere, wide-open views, and delicious desserts, this is somewhere I would recommend.

The café operates from the second floor up to the fourth-floor rooftop, and there is a dedicated parking lot by the entrance at the back of the building.

Where do you order and pick up?

When you enter the second floor, the main counter is on the right and kiosks are on the left. You can order directly at the second-floor counter or conveniently use a kiosk. Drinks and desserts are picked up, and trays returned, at the second-floor counter area.

You receive a pager when ordering; once it buzzes, simply collect your food from the second-floor counter.

Wood-toned interiors and antique accessories

The warm wood-toned interior and antique accessories immediately caught my eye.

Details throughout the café, such as a coffee bean and merchandise display made from an old sewing machine and a cute deer-doll object, gave the space a charming vintage feel.

Views through wide windows and from the fourth-floor rooftop

There is a real variety of seating, from partitioned sofa seats and large wooden tables for groups to raised floor seating where you can take off your shoes and relax. The views of the Geumho River and Dongchon Resort through the wide windows felt refreshing right down to my heart.

Rooftop panoramic view

The fourth-floor rooftop opens onto blue skies and mountain ridges!!! It has such a wonderful panoramic view! The open vista of the Geumho River and Dongchon Resort, with distant mountains and fluffy clouds, made it seem like a perfect photo spot for an unforgettable shot. On a nice day, it would be hard to find a better place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the outdoor breeze!!

I ordered ice cream waffles and drinks

• Iced Americano

Hands Coffee’s signature crisp-outside, soft-inside ice cream waffle and refreshing drinks arrived. You really cannot leave out waffles when talking about Hands Coffee! With the wide-open river view behind it, the spread of waffles and drinks looked so impressive that I could not help but gasp. 😋

Strawberry and chocolate ice cream waffle

For the ice cream waffle, I chose strawberry plus chocolate ice cream! One bite was all it took to understand why Hands Coffee is known for its waffles. The freshly baked waffle was pleasantly crisp on the outside and moist and chewy within, paired with dense, rich Häagen-Dazs chocolate and strawberry ice cream and soft whipped cream. I cut the waffle into thick pieces and dipped them generously in ice cream and whipped cream—it was so good! It disappeared in no time!! 😋

Grapefruit La Shower, smoothie, and Americano

The Grapefruit La Shower, filled with generous slices of fresh grapefruit, had a bright tang and fizzy freshness. The nutty iced Americano and blueberry yogurt smoothie we ordered alongside it were also delicious while taking in the open view!
