My friend and I finally had dinner near Gangnam Station together. I don't actually come to this area that often, so every time I do, the restaurants and cafés feel new to me haha. I'd mostly come here for lunch before, but coming at night, the autumn breeze felt cool and there's a certain charm to the downtown night air.

That day dinner happened to be near Gangnam Station, so I immediately knew where I wanted coffee. A place I fell in love with years ago on a first visit with my high school friends, and now I always stop by whenever I'm near Gangnam Station — Selected Nicks.

Here it is! Coming at night, I loved the lighting right away. When I came in summer I walked here sweating buckets lol, but tonight there was romance right from the entrance.

With the lighting added, Selected Nicks felt even more atmospheric. You order on the 1st floor, and those outside stairs lead straight up to the 2nd floor. The whole building is a café, and there's café space in the basement too. We ended up sitting here on the 1st floor since the rooftop had no seats left, but the quiet, calm vibe was nice too.

The 8th-floor rooftop night view, and how to get a seat

If you want to enjoy the night view at Selected Nicks on a nice day like this, have one person order while everyone else rushes straight up to the 8th-floor rooftop!!

This is the view from the 8th-floor rooftop~~ We'd thought it was great coming during the day before, but the night view is truly the best. That said, competition for seats is fierce, so come early or time it well haha.

Last time I came to Selected Nicks during the day, I sipped coffee looking at this view. In autumn, even the daytime view is amazing^^ It really opens up your chest.

Inside the 1st-floor dessert showcase at Selected Nicks

Selected Nicks specializes in tiramisu, and you can even try the chewy Dubai-style tiramisu. During lunch hours there's a happy hour with Americanos for ₩3,000.

It had been a while since my last visit, and the interior had changed a lot. The 1st floor no longer has seating — that space is now taken over by this dessert display area.

The tiramisu is packaged and lined up in the showcase.

There's also a 4-piece tiramisu set that's great for gifting. Price is ₩26,800.

Baked goods are on display too — financiers, madeleines, and brownies. Selected Nicks' financiers are usually around ₩4,000s. The brownie is ₩4,500.

They also sell lollipops, a simple and nice gift option — the packaging is simple but pretty~

Banana tiramisu for 7,800 won, set discounts and happy hour

Selected Nicks is a Gangnam Station rooftop café known for great tiramisu, so definitely order the tiramisu when you come. It's big enough that two people can share one. The first time I came I tried all three flavors, but since I love banana, I always get the banana tiramisu now^^ Banana tiramisu is ₩7,800 — the classic, banana, and choco banana versions are all the same price.

Ordering as a set gets you a discount too, so it's a solid, practical combo~

And happy hour, from 11am to 1pm, also gives you a set discount, which is so nice^^

It's September, but it's still hot during the day, so you can still enjoy the summer season menu items too~

What the banana tiramisu tastes like on the 1st-floor terrace

This is the 1st-floor outdoor seating my friend and I sat at. Last time I came there were seats free too, but it was a hot afternoon and I couldn't bring myself to sit there lol — this exact spot.

We ordered an iced Americano and banana tiramisu~

You can see the crumble is generously layered on the bottom and piled on top of the tiramisu too.

That crumble actually paired really well with the tiramisu.

As you can see, banana pieces are layered throughout, so it's full of banana flavor, and the cream in the middle isn't heavy at all — it goes really well with the banana. Perfect with the Americano!! The texture truly melts in your mouth.

The coffee has a slight acidity, and the bean's flavor is fairly rich too. Close to Gangnam Station and especially known for great tiramisu — on an autumn day like this, it's a great spot to soak in the downtown night view while enjoying tiramisu and coffee.
