This is Cheongwon Restaurant: Cooking Budae-jjigae, Cheonan Dujeong Main Branch, famous as a local Cheonan favorite and a top budae-jjigae spot in Dujeong-dong :) There's space to park about 4 cars right in front, and they park in a way that doesn't block the road haha. If parking out front is tough, they'll also support 2 hours at the underground parking of Star Palace Apartments right across the street, which is great^^

The day I visited was a bit windy but the sun was pretty strong, and they had the AC blasting — so thoughtful > <

Why this Dujeong-dong budae-jjigae restaurant fills up at lunch
Cheongwon Restaurant: Cooking Budae-jjigae, Cheonan Dujeong Main Branch, a beloved budae-jjigae spot in Dujeong-dong, is always packed like this at lunchtime ^^ Guests kept arriving even as we were leaving, and two parties ended up in the inner room too 😄 A YouTuber was even visiting that day — it really felt like a genuine Dujeong-dong, Cheonan local favorite > <

Ordering Songtan budae-jjigae for two and a pork cutlet
The main menu here is budae-jjigae (army stew) haha. A place that really competes on the stew itself! It's split into Songtan budae-jjigae and Cheongwon budae-jjigae 😋 We ordered the signature Original Songtan Budae-jjigae for 2, plus pork cutlet as a side 👐 If you want something spicier, there's also Cheongwon budae-jjigae with cheongyang chili peppers haha. It even has beef brisket in it, so that sounded delicious too :)

After we ordered, the basic banchan (side dishes) came out first :) There's also a self-serve corner where the banchan, plus rice and ramyeon noodles, are all unlimited and free 😄 That's pretty generous haha.

What's in the Songtan budae-jjigae: ham, sausage, and Korean beef mince
Ah,, here's the signature 'Songtan budae-jjigae' we ordered at Cheongwon Restaurant: Cooking Budae-jjigae, Cheonan Dujeong Main Branch, a top budae-jjigae spot in Dujeong-dong 💓 Budae-jjigae can't be without ham, right? The ham is so generous haha. And there's a heap of 1++ grade Korean beef mince piled on top > < After putting the lid on and waiting a bit for it to boil, a staff member comes over to tell you exactly when and how to eat it :)

Is the jumbo pork cutlet good for sharing with a child?
The pork cutlet arrived just as the budae-jjigae was nearly done boiling, right as we were about to eat haha. I thought since it was a side dish it'd be a small portion 🤣 but it was basically jumbo pork cutlet size!! It felt like a portion clearly meant with kids in mind haha.

I visited with my kid and thought the pork cutlet would go well alongside the budae-jjigae, so I ordered it — and my kid really ate it up haha. The cutlet was thick and tender, so delicious 🤤

Honestly, the best budae-jjigae I've ever had in my life haha.
I love budae-jjigae but my husband isn't really into it, so it had been a while since I'd had it — this time with my kid. And honestly, it's the best budae-jjigae I've ever had in my life haha. It's a bit of a drive from my place, but I feel like I want to run over right this second 😆 It's so good... If you live nearby, plenty of people have probably already tried it, but if you haven't, you really should ❣️

The banchan were also the light, clean type that suit budae-jjigae well, so it all came together nicely haha. My kid and I were too busy demolishing the stew to refill our banchan, but at other tables I saw a lot of refills of the stir-fried fish cake — it comes out warm, which made it even tastier ㅎ.ㅎ

My kid and I cleared the budae-jjigae and pork cutlet 👐 Next time I'll go for the Songtan budae-jjigae again... since I'm a wimp with spicy food haha. But it was genuinely delicious and I'd want to eat it again 😍

Even as we got up to leave after eating, the hall was still full -^^- If you're looking for a genuine Cheonan local favorite and a top budae-jjigae spot in Dujeong-dong, I'd highly recommend Cheongwon Restaurant: Cooking Budae-jjigae, Cheonan Dujeong Main Branch 💟

You can even finish off with a coffee after the meal ☺️ Looking for a restaurant in Cheonan with easy parking and good food to enjoy with my kid, I visited Cheongwon Restaurant: Cooking Budae-jjigae, Cheonan Dujeong Main Branch, a top budae-jjigae spot in Dujeong-dong, and the result was total satisfaction 💚 The taste, price, and service were all great, and the friendly attitude of the owner and staff was a plus too :) If I'm in Cheonan again, this is a place I'd want to visit again.
