Cheonan pork belly restaurant with Boseong green pork: Cham Dwaejitgan
In short
Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch is a pork belly restaurant in Dujeong-dong, Cheonan, grilling Jirisan black pork and Boseong green pork over a patented rice-husk smoking plate. Because the husband dislikes five-layer pork belly, the couple ordered Boseong green pork samgyeopsal (pork belly), let the staff grill it for them, and added minari (water dropwort), potato wraps and doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew). Fried rice and drinks were skipped for the sake of dieting, but the pork belly alone was more than filling.

Now that the weather's turning cool, why does my appetite have to pick up too?? Haha. Last week I suddenly craved pork belly and rushed out to eat it, so here's my review of a pork belly spot in Dujeong-dong, Cheonan. Today's post is about Cham Dwaejitgan Dujeong Branch : )
Cham Dwaejitgan Dujeong Branch menu: choosing Boseong green pork belly
The menu at Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch splits into Jirisan black pork and Boseong pork belly. I love ogyeopsal (five-layer pork belly) but my husband doesn't like it, so... no choice but to order the Boseong pork belly.

Inside Cham Dwaejitgan in Dujeong-dong: is it good for group dinners?
Here's the interior of Cham Dwaejitgan Dujeong-dong — overall a modern, clean design, with backed sofa seating along the walls that made it comfortable to eat. A big group came in later, and it looked like the perfect spot for a Cheonan work dinner too.

The patented rice-husk smoking grill plate
True to a Cheonan pork belly favorite, they use a somewhat special grill plate — smoked with rice husk, which makes the meat softer and lets you eat it packed with flavor.

Self-bar, utensil hygiene and the sauces at Cham Dwaejitgan
At the self-bar you could refill wrap vegetables, scallion shreds, kimchi, salad — whatever you wanted : )

Oh...! At Cham Dwaejitgan they keep the spoons and chopsticks individually wrapped and stored hygienically. Not many places do that, so I really loved how clean it felt 💙

True to a Cheonan pork belly favorite, the sauces were an unusually varied lineup too! Personally the mushroom wasabi was so good. Right up my alley.

How thick is the Boseong green pork belly, and how the grilling service works
Here's the star of the show, the pork belly we ordered. It came out looking serious, haha. Piled high with kkwari peppers (shishito-style green peppers) and potato wraps too~ Can you tell just from the photo how different the quality is?!!! The thickness of the meat was insane.

At Cham Dwaejitgan they provide a grilling service, so you don't have to worry about grilling the meat or getting splattered with oil, and the meat gets cooked more evenly and deliciously — true fact...!
But anyway... what's the tastiest meat of all?? Meat someone else grills for you!!!! Isn't that just true???haha. Enjoy the ASMR of that perfect sizzling sound too.

Minari, bean sprouts and kkwari peppers piled onto the grill
I love minari (water dropwort) a ton, and there was minari plus bean sprouts, kkwari peppers, and kimchi too!!! You all know how the pork belly's oil flowing down to the lower plate makes everything taste even better cooked in that fat, right...? With all these tasty pairings piled on the grill alongside the pork belly, you can take turns with whatever you're in the mood for : )

Doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew)
An unmissable combo = doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew). It was savory yet subtly spicy, and great to eat alongside rice.

Once the meat is mostly cooked, they move it all to the lower plate, and on the main grill they add things like potato wraps that you want to cook further haha.

Why the fried rice and drinks were skipped
Minari with pork belly, or wrapping the meat in a potato wrap! Which one's more your style?? I can't choose... I just like it all, honestly... I wanted to get the fried rice too, but for diet's sake... I shut my eyes and skipped it. Skipped the drinks too, this one person did. Still, filling up on delicious pork belly felt so good.

As we were about to pay and leave, there it was near the entrance... ta-da..!! Now I get why so many people pick this as their go-to Cheonan pork belly spot and gathering place. These small thoughtful details are what really move you. Finishing off with a cup of yogurt gave a refreshing, clean finish to the meal : ) If you're looking for a place to eat meat in Cheonan, I recommend Cham Dwaejitgan~
