- A good spot in Sinbu-dong to enjoy coffee with tasty baked treats
- The bright lemon madeleine and smooth green tea latte paired really well
- A café with a fun variety of baked treats to choose from
Lately, even when I'm just having a cup of coffee, I find myself wanting a tasty dessert to go with it. That day especially, I was craving something sweet, but not too heavy — more in the mood for a light baked treat with my coffee. So I searched for Cheonan coffee and Cheonan café recommendations and ended up at Brewers Coffee in Sinbu-dong :)

Where is Brewers Coffee Cheonan Sinbu Branch?
Brewers Coffee is located at 20 Meokgeori 9-gil, Dongnam-gu, Cheonan-si, Chungnam.

It seemed like a nice place to swing by for a coffee after a meal in Sinbu-dong, and I thought people like me, who like having coffee and dessert together, would enjoy it too. Walking in, the first thing that caught my eye was, of course, the dessert.

Baked treats on offer and the menu board
Here's the menu.

There were financiers, canelés, madeleines and other baked treats lined up, and it was fun looking them over one by one. I spent a while deciding what to get, and in the end I went with the lemon madeleine and a green tea latte.

How did the lemon madeleine taste?
I started with the lemon madeleine. The moment I took a bite, I could feel the lemon fragrance spreading gently. When you think of a madeleine, you usually picture something sweet and buttery, but with the lemon in it, it definitely felt fresher and lighter.
It had that base sweetness, but with the bright citrus scent of lemon layered on top, so it wasn't as heavy as I expected. I usually get tired of desserts pretty quickly if they're too sweet, but the lemon madeleine had that refreshing edge to it, so I kept reaching for more.
The outside had that nutty, toasty flavor typical of baked treats, and the inside was fluffy — good to eat alongside coffee or another drink. I especially loved pairing it with a sip of green tea latte. The lemon's brightness would refresh my mouth, then the madeleine's sweet, nutty flavor would follow, and once I started, I just kept going back and forth between the two haha

Was the green tea latte strong?
Next up was my favorite, the green tea latte! Green tea lattes can be hit or miss if they're too strong or bitter, but this one was smooth and creamy first and foremost. There was still that gentle bitterness typical of green tea, so it didn't feel like just a sweet drink.
What I liked most was that when I ate it with the lemon madeleine, the flavors never overlapped. The lemon madeleine was bright and sweet, and the green tea latte was mellow with a soft green tea taste, so going back and forth between the two worked really well.

Personally, I prefer this kind of pairing — a bright dessert with a smooth green tea latte — over just having a sweet dessert with a sweet drink. It also worked well for chatting and eating slowly over a long conversation :)

Who is this Cheonan café a good fit for?
What I personally liked most was being able to pick whichever dessert I was in the mood for that day from the variety of baked treats and enjoy it with coffee. This time I picked the lemon madeleine, and thanks to the bright lemon fragrance, I enjoyed it without getting tired of it, right to the end.
I think this would especially suit people like me who prefer light baked treats with their coffee over heavy desserts. I'd recommend it to anyone in Sinbu-dong looking for a place to grab coffee with a friend, or a café to rest at over dessert after a meal.
Next time I go, I want to try some of the other baked treats I didn't get to this time haha. If you've been searching for Cheonan coffee, Cheonan café recommendations, or Sinbu-dong café, give Brewers Coffee a try :)
