Nampo Station sushi restaurant lunch with toddlers: Moshi Moshi Sushi

In short

Moshi Moshi Sushi Lotte Department Store Gwangbok is a Japanese sushi restaurant on the 10th floor of the main building of Lotte Department Store Gwangbok, near Nampo Station in Jung-gu, Busan. Two adults and two children, ages 4 and 5, arrived at 11:30 a.m. and ordered two adult sushi sets plus one kids' tonkatsu and one kids' udon, and the thick eel nigiri and the restroom right beside the restaurant were the high points. For a lunch in Nampo-dong with small children, Moshi Moshi Sushi keeps the menu decisions simple.

I went to Moshi Moshi Sushi Gwangbok to have lunch with the kids at Lotte Department Store Gwangbok. We visited with two kids, ages 4 and 5, and two adults. I wasn't sure if there'd be anything for the kids at a sushi place, but they had a separate kids' menu, so the meal went more smoothly than I expected.

That day we started with lunch at Moshi Moshi Sushi, then went to an art class at Sangsang Sketch, did some shopping, took photos, and had coffee at Outback — spending about 6 hours total at Lotte Department Store Gwangbok.

Is there a wait at Moshi Moshi Sushi Lotte Gwangbok at 11:30 a.m.?

Moshi Moshi Sushi Lotte Department Store Gwangbok is a sushi restaurant in the dining area on the 10th floor of the main building, and we visited around 11:30 a.m. I thought it was still early for lunch, but there was already quite a wait. We were lucky to get seated, but it's worth keeping in mind that there can be a wait on weekends or during peak lunch hours.

The restaurant itself was spacious and clean, with plenty of staff around. The tables weren't super widely spaced, but it wasn't hard to move around with a stroller.

One thing I always pay attention to when eating out with a kid is the restroom, and it was great that there's a restroom right next to Moshi Moshi Sushi. With a kid, you sometimes need to dash to the restroom mid-meal, and not having to walk far actually made a real difference.

Kids' menu at Moshi Moshi Sushi: tonkatsu and udon

That day we ordered two adult sushi sets, and for the kids, one tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) and one udon. Since there's a separate kids' menu, both the 4- and 5-year-old had something to eat.

The kids' portions were more generous than I expected. The tonkatsu came out fried crisp and already cut into kid-friendly pieces, and the udon was easy for the kids to eat without any fuss.

Best of all, the kids didn't just eat their own menu — they also shared some of the adult sushi, so the overall amount of food was just right for two adults and two kids.

With the kids eating tonkatsu and udon and the adults eating sushi, there's not much to worry about menu-wise when visiting with kids.

Thick eel nigiri, the standout in the sushi set

The eel nigiri was what stood out most in Moshi Moshi Sushi's sushi set. I was fairly satisfied with the sushi overall that day — since it's inside a department store, prices are on the higher side, so I went in expecting decent quality, and the ingredients were fresh enough that I enjoyed the meal overall.

The eel in the set was especially memorable for being thick and generously sized. The flesh was soft with almost no fishy taste, so as someone who likes eel, I ate it happily.

There was also beef nigiri in the set, so we got to try a good variety.

So if you're looking for a proper sushi meal at a Japanese restaurant near Nampo, I think this could be a good option.

Salad and soft tofu: the side dishes that came with lunch

At Moshi Moshi Sushi, the side dishes were just as good as the main menu. The salad came in a generous portion and was fresh and refreshing, pairing well with the sushi.

The soft tofu was also nice as a palate cleanser, and overall the basic side dishes were served neatly, which made for a satisfying lunch.

With the kids eating tonkatsu and udon and the adults having sushi and salad, it was a complete meal with nothing missing.

Is Moshi Moshi Sushi near Nampo Station worth a lunch with kids?

When looking for a lunch spot near Nampo Station to visit with kids, it matters whether there's a menu the kids can actually eat. Moshi Moshi Sushi has kids' menu options like tonkatsu and udon alongside sushi, which made it easy to visit with our kids.

Even with a 4- and 5-year-old and two adults like us, everyone could order what they actually wanted to eat, which was great. And having the restroom right next door felt like a bigger perk than expected when eating with kids. That said, since there was already a wait around 11:30 a.m., I'd recommend visiting with some extra time to spare during busier hours.
