You can spot the public parking lot right inside the market. Park there and walk over slowly — it takes about 10 minutes.

It's located right at the entrance to Mangwon Market. It's close to Mangwon Station so I found it quickly — about a 5-minute walk. There's so much to see nearby, so it's the perfect route: browse Mangwon Market, get hungry, and come to Beotkkot Sushi for lunch. I come to Mangwon Market about once a week, so I think I'll be back here a lot!

Vibe and seating

Clean and cute atmosphere. Lots of 4-person tables, and the spacing between tables is wide so it doesn't feel cramped — really comfortable. The moment I walked in, a friendly staff member greeted me! There were so many menu options that I agonized over what to order haha.

Weekday lunch menu

A great-value weekday lunch menu. The assorted sushi set is under ₩10,000! So good :) If your workplace is nearby, it'd be perfect to come by for lunch and order the weekday lunch menu. Weekday lunch runs 11:00–15:00 (takeout containers cost an extra ₩1,100 per menu).

What's in the 12-piece special sushi set (₩22,900)

I was starving today so I ordered the special sushi set, which comes in a generous portion! 12 pieces: ₩22,900. Live fish x2, salmon x3, otoro x2, eel, marinated shrimp, cuttlefish, aged kimchi sushi, red shrimp.

For big eaters, I'd recommend the big-eater sushi set — a whopping 15 pieces for ₩20,900. Live fish x3, salmon x3, swordfish x2, egg, fried shrimp, giant squid, fried tofu pocket, garlic shrimp, beef. Such a great price :)

It comes with a bowl of clear soup, too

The variety made it fun to pick and choose what to eat. For me, the red salmon was the best.

The signature red salmon

Beotkkot Sushi's signature red salmon goes through a special aging process. Isn't it fascinating? It's not dye — apparently the red color comes from aging the salmon with good natural ingredients. [Beotkkot Sushi's salmon is aged with ingredients known for anti-cancer effects and iron production, keeping your health in mind too]

The aged kimchi sushi was delicious too. The eel had that salty, always-satisfying flavor 👍

Shrimp sushi — marinated shrimp and red shrimp

If you're a shrimp lover, you have to try the shrimp sushi at Beotkkot Sushi :) Marinated shrimp, red shrimp. They're so good you might end up ordering more! Tender with a great bite. For me, the red shrimp was the best.

Final thoughts

Wow, the portion was so generous that even 12 pieces left me stuffed. It's super close to Mangwon Station and right at the entrance to Mangwon Market, so if you're planning a date in Mangwon, this would make a great addition to your date course. You can browse the market, hang out, and then head straight here the moment you get hungry! This place has been a word-of-mouth favorite among Mangwon Market sushi spots for a while, so it's the kind of place almost everyone will enjoy!
