Pohang crab restaurant with crab roe fried rice and crab ramyeon
In short
Yeonggwang Hoe Daegae Center is a bakdal snow crab restaurant on the crab and sashimi street inside Jukdo Market in Pohang. The bakdal snow crab special for two (130,000 won) ran from skate salad, octopus tangtangi (chopped live octopus), an assorted sashimi plate and mul-hoe (cold raw fish soup) to the crab itself, then finished with crab roe fried rice in the shell, crab ramyeon and a spicy fish stew. Yeonggwang Hoe Daegae Center suits anyone who wants a full seafood course rather than crab on its own.

[ Yeonggwang Hoe Daegae Center ] A local favorite for Bakdal snow crab in Jukdo Market, Pohang
On a trip to Pohang I decided I absolutely had to eat snow crab before leaving, so I went to Yeonggwang Hoe Daegae Center, a sashimi restaurant in Jukdo Market. Instead of just crab, I ordered the Bakdal snow crab special for two so I could enjoy a whole course of dishes! ✨ The set came generously loaded with snow crab, mul-hoe, assorted sashimi, crab ramyeon, and spicy fish stew : ) Let me introduce this Pohang favorite, Yeonggwang Hoe Daegae Center~! 🦀♥️
Where is Yeonggwang Hoe Daegae Center, and where do you park?
Yeonggwang Hoe Daegae Center sits inside the crab and sashimi street of Jukdo Fish Market. It's near the parking lot, so it was easy to find.
You can park at the Jukdo Market public parking lot. The restaurant gives you a parking voucher : )

In front of the restaurant, the tanks were packed not just with snow crab but with red crab and all kinds of live fish. Red crab, Dokdo shrimp, Bakdal snow crab, lobster — all the special menu items and prices were written out clearly.

Right at the entrance of Yeonggwang Hoe Daegae Center, a banner caught my eye announcing an SBS TV appearance. Looks like they've even been on a Korean master-craftsman show, haha^^
Inside Yeonggwang Hoe Daegae Center
Overall the interior was clean and fairly spacious, a comfortable atmosphere to eat in.
The tables were spaced generously too, so it looked good for parties of 2 to 4, or even bigger groups.
Menu board and snow crab prices in Jukdo Market

On the wall, price lists for various set menus — snow crab, king crab, lobster — were posted, so it was easy to check everything at a glance before ordering : )

What comes with the bakdal snow crab special for two?

Once we ordered, dishes started arriving one by one on the table, and there was more to eat than I expected. I really should've had a drink, but since it was lunch and we'd driven, I sadly couldn't.
With this many side dishes, and I can't drink my beloved soju~!!😩

Sweet and tangy skate salad, fresh octopus tangtangi (live octopus, sliced), plus abalone and whelk.

There's something fun about pulling the meat out of a whelk shell 🐚
And I'm not sure what the combination is meant to be, but fries show up too. (Freshly fried, warm and tasty.) Perfect as a drinking snack for the kids, ha, or a nutritious bite for the dads.

With all the basic side dishes plus sashimi and seafood together, it felt less like coming just for crab and more like a proper full seafood spread.

Assorted sashimi plate and mul-hoe
The assorted sashimi comes with flounder and rockfish arranged neatly together on one plate, as shown.

Wrapping a fresh slice of sashimi with ssamjang, garlic, and cheongyang chili — so good.
But for me, sashimi dipped in soy sauce loaded with wasabi is still the best~^^♥️

This is the mul-hoe (cold raw fish soup) included in the special. It's packed with abalone, squid, sashimi, and other seafood. Served over a slushy iced broth with a sprinkle of seaweed flakes on top — doesn't it look incredibly appetizing already?

Mix it all up well and the tangy, spicy fruit-based sauce blends with the seafood, waking your appetite right up.
Bakdal snow crab: leg meat and claw meat
And then, finally, the moment I'd been waiting for — the Bakdal snow crab arrives!🦀♥️✨ This is our Bakdal snow crab special for two.

Alongside the crab, a generous plate of shrimp and shellfish also came out.
Snow crab really does get your heart racing just by looking at it..♥️ It's already fully prepped, so all you have to do is eat.
With snow crab, nothing beats the moment you slide the leg meat right out~! That's the happiest part.
Thanks to the crab meat's naturally sweet, clean flavor, it's delicious even plain, without chojang or any other sauce — and warm, it's even more moist and tender😭♥️
When eating snow crab, you kind of look forward to the claw meat too, right?! The claw section was also prepped for easy eating, and when I opened it up, a thick chunk of claw meat appeared.
Perfect bite size, and the meat yield on the claw was top-notch!😋
Meanwhile, my boyfriend was dipping claw meat straight into the crab guts like a true expert🫢 Peak foodie energy, lol
Crab roe fried rice made in the crab shell
You can't skip the crab shell when eating snow crab. After you've had your fill of crab, just ask staff to finish it off with roe fried rice in the shell.

The crab roe fried rice has that rich, savory crab-innards flavor with a hint of butter on top — what else can I say.. absolutely delicious♥️
Pick out any leftover crab body meat and eat it with the fried rice too — the texture is amazing🦀🍚

Picking the crab meat clean and then eating the shell too — that's what it feels like to properly finish a whole crab~
How the crab ramyeon arrives at the table
After eating a fair amount of crab, my stomach started filling up, but the Bakdal snow crab special for two also included crab ramyeon.
Inside the pot are crab legs, shellfish, and green onion, haha
We wanted it spicy so we asked for extra cheongyang chili on the side, and since we usually eat things spicy and salty, we added a spoonful of ssamjang on top of the ramyeon seasoning^^
With crab and shellfish in it, the broth was clean and refreshing, and with the cheongyang chili it turned properly spicy🔥 After eating crab, a spoonful of the spicy broth followed by a bite of the savory roe fried rice — best combo!
Even full, there's always room for ramyeon somehow😅

The spicy fish stew that ends the meal
The last dish was spicy fish stew. It came out in a pot with fish, green onion, perilla leaves, and a generous topping of red chili powder.

Adding cheongyang chili and ssamjang to taste and letting it simmer away made the stew even better.

I was too full to eat much of the stew, but I still made sure to eat well right to the very end^^
Is Yeonggwang Hoe Daegae Center worth it for crab in Pohang?

The Bakdal snow crab special at Yeonggwang Hoe Daegae Center in Pohang isn't just a plate of crab — it comes packed with snow crab, mul-hoe, assorted sashimi, crab ramyeon, and spicy fish stew, so it suits anyone who wants variety. There's real fun in picking out crab leg meat with such good yield, and finishing with a hearty crab roe rice was satisfying too. If you've made it all the way to Pohang and think you have to eat snow crab, I'd recommend Yeonggwang Hoe Daegae Center in Jukdo Market~!🦀♥️
