I was looking for somewhere near Guro Digital Complex Station to eat a lot of meat and have a drink, and that's how I landed on Bak Jeongmi Dakgalbi! Bak Jeongmi Dakgalbi is on the 3rd floor of the Huijeon Building on Digital-ro 32na-gil, near Guro Digital Complex Station. You go up to the 3rd floor inside the building, which made it easy for our group to gather.

What does the 20,500 won 2-hour pass include?

We went with the 2-hour all-you-can-eat pass centered around charcoal-grilled dakgalbi (grilled marinated chicken). For ₩20,500 per adult, you get 2 hours of 7 types of meat, 2 types of chicken, drinks, fried rice, chicken soup, shrimp, and soup tteokbokki (rice cakes in broth).

With that lineup, there's really a wide range of menu choices. There's also a 2-hour drinks pass for anyone who likes to drink — soju and draft beer, unlimited, for ₩9,900. That makes it a solid choice for work dinners or group gatherings too.

Seven kinds of meat grilled over charcoal

The main event at Bak Jeongmi Dakgalbi is, of course, the charcoal-grilled dakgalbi! Placing the meat right over the charcoal and grilling it yourself made my mouth water just watching it sizzle. I liked being able to pick meats to my taste and grill them myself — instead of eating just one thing over and over, you get to try a little of many kinds, so it never gets boring.

As the photo shows, there's a charcoal brazier right in the middle of the table, and you grill the meat yourself — great for sitting around and chatting with a group over the meal. Especially at work dinners or group gatherings, everyone often wants something different, so having this many options meant everyone could pick what they liked.

The two fried chickens I liked most

Honestly, the dish I remember most from that day was, surprisingly, the chicken. There were 2 types of chicken available, so in between eating meat I'd grab some chicken too, and crispy chicken with beer turned out to be a really great match. I enjoyed the charcoal dakgalbi that day, but the chicken-and-draft-beer combo was what I kept coming back to.

Eating meat, then a bite of crispy chicken, then a sip of cold draft beer — it felt like I could start all over again haha. Being able to enjoy chicken along with an all-you-can-eat meat buffet made the whole experience that much more satisfying.

Is the 9,900 won drinks pass with draft beer worth it?

And one thing I can't leave out from that day is the draft beer! With the 2-hour drinks pass, you can enjoy soju and draft beer for ₩9,900 — a really welcome deal for anyone who likes to drink.

I mostly stuck to draft beer that day, and eating charcoal-grilled meat and crispy chicken with a cold beer is a combination that never fails. Especially with the meat, the beer cuts through the richness nicely, so you just keep eating.

What's on the self-serve bar at Bak Jeongmi Dakgalbi?

Another thing I liked about Bak Jeongmi Dakgalbi was the variety at the self-serve bar.

It's not just all-you-can-eat meat — there's a good variety of dishes to go alongside, and you can take as much as you want. As you can see in the photos, there were basics like lettuce wraps, garlic and onion, plus several side dishes, along with a nice range of sauces to go with the meat.

There were also warm dishes like chicken soup and soup tteokbokki, plus shrimp, which were nice to break things up between rounds of meat.

At the end, you can also grab fried rice — a lineup that leaves you thoroughly full if you eat slowly over the 2 hours!

From grilled meat to tteokbokki and fried rice

It's not just charcoal dakgalbi and done — you can also have soup tteokbokki, warm your stomach with chicken soup, and finish with fried rice, so the menu felt quite substantial. Especially with a group, it's a plus that meat-lovers, chicken-lovers, and tteokbokki-or-side-dish-lovers can all eat to their own taste.

So this seems like a great fit not just for dinner with friends, but also for anyone looking for a group work-dinner spot.
