In short

On a weekday evening between 7 and 8 pm, when the restaurant was full, a solo seat made room for a spicy stir-fried octopus rice bowl with a mini doenjang jjageuli added, plus steamed egg and side dishes. Menu and self-ordering at 1992 Deopbap, with 7% points back

Thanks to that, you can get a high-quality spread at a more reasonable price. They also have a points system that gives back a solid 7% on every order — definitely a perk for regulars.

Menu board listing jjageuli, rice bowls, and bibimbap

There was a long line behind me so I couldn't get a photo, but the menu ranges widely across jjageuli, rice bowls, bibimbap, and side dishes, so there's plenty to choose from.

Depending on the dish, you get a side like steamed egg or a stew, plus a variety of banchan (side dishes) — and the price is still quite reasonable for all that!

Water and drinks are self-service! And thoughtfully, they also have wet wipes, candy, mouthwash, and hair ties on hand.

Spicy octopus rice bowl with mini doenjang jjageuli: the full table

My solo order came out as a spicy octopus stir-fry rice bowl with an added mini doenjang jjageuli. Once the food is ready, they call your number for pickup — and even with the crowd, it came out fast!

Just looking at it, you can tell it's a hearty Korean spread! The presentation alone was on point.

The spicy octopus rice bowl was generously topped with shredded green onion and roasted seaweed flakes. Drizzling on some pressed sesame oil from the mill made it even better.

Thick chunks of octopus in the rice bowl before mixing

Once mixed well, it really lived up to its name — spicy! The octopus wasn't cut into tiny pieces either; it came in thick chunks and plenty of them, with a satisfying chewy bite.

The crunchy bits of green onion in between made it even tastier. This wasn't some token octopus rice bowl thrown together — it was the real deal!

Bowl of the added mini doenjang jjageuli

Mini doenjang jjageuli: mini in name only

This is the mini jjageuli I added on. Despite being called 'mini,' it was packed with hearty ingredients, and the portion was quite generous for one person — very satisfying.

Rich broth and ingredients inside the mini doenjang jjageuli

Ingredients like beef brisket, potato, zucchini, mushrooms, and green onion added to the fullness, and the slightly spicy, rich broth was good enough to pass for a specialty doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) shop!

Fluffy steamed egg served as a standard side
A spoonful of the steamed egg cross-section

The fluffy steamed egg was just a standard side, but it was genuinely delicious!!

The side dishes were also neat and well put together. Thanks to it all, even eating alone, I walked out feeling full and satisfied, no complaints at all.
