Tangjeong Station favorite Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo — a hearty Korean meal, and a grilled fish spot in Asan Tangjeong!

I visited Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo, a new spot right in front of Tangjeong Station. More and more good restaurants have been popping up around Tangjeong Station, making it fun to hunt for places to eat. This time I went to a grilled mackerel specialty restaurant that, true to its name, serves a variety of fish dishes centered on mackerel.

Where is Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo, and where do you park?
Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo Asan Tangjeong Branch sits right in front of Tangjeong Station, so it's easy to reach by public transit, and there's also in-building parking for anyone driving. Above all, the location made it a really convenient place to visit.
The in-building parking had plenty of space, and there's also a public parking lot right outside, so parking wasn't much of a worry. That public lot runs about ₩600 an hour too, which made it easy to use without much burden.
Walking in, the restaurant was noticeably bigger than I expected. The overall vibe was clean and pleasant, which made it feel like a good fit for family meals or visits with a bigger group.

The self-serve bar: unlimited pork stir-fry, like a Korean buffet
One of the most impressive things about Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo is the self-serve bar. I figured a grilled fish specialty place would just have a few basic side dishes, but there was a whole spread set up for you to help yourself to.

There was braised tofu, which I love, and the dish that really caught my eye was the pork stir-fry.

It was already a nice surprise that a mackerel specialty restaurant had pork stir-fry at all, but the fact that it's unlimited here made it even better. The sauce was a bit spicy, so it went great with rice, and since I personally love pork stir-fry, I ended up loading up on quite a lot from the self-serve bar even though I came for grilled fish. There were also plenty of other side dishes like egg rolls and gochujang-seasoned chili peppers, so I could mix and match according to my taste.

Being able to enjoy a generous spread of side dishes alongside the main dish really felt like a proper full Korean table.
Three mackerel dishes: grilled, spicy seasoned and aged kimchi mackerel
We ordered grilled mackerel, spicy seasoned grilled mackerel, and aged kimchi mackerel at Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo. The basic grilled mackerel came out nicely browned, and I could really taste that clean, savory flavor that mackerel is known for.

The spicy seasoned grilled mackerel had a lightly spicy sauce added, giving it a completely different flavor from the plain grilled version.

The seasoning wasn't overly intense, so it went well with rice — a good option to enjoy without worry if you like a bit of spice.
The best of the three: aged kimchi mackerel
My personal favorite was the aged kimchi mackerel (묵은지고등어). I usually love aged kimchi stews, and this dish had generous amounts of both mackerel and aged kimchi (묵은지, well-fermented kimchi), which suited my taste perfectly.

The deep flavor of well-fermented kimchi paired nicely with the savory taste of the mackerel, and the kimchi was delicious eaten with rice too. Grilled fish alone can feel a bit plain, but with plenty of aged kimchi included, I was able to enjoy it deliciously right to the end.
Is Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo worth a meal near Tangjeong Station?
Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo's biggest strength seems to be that, alongside its grilled mackerel, you get a generous spread of side dishes plus unlimited pork stir-fry. The restaurant is also spacious and clean, and being right in front of Tangjeong Station with convenient parking made it an easy choice for a meal.
It would especially suit people who like a variety of side dishes, or anyone wanting a hearty meal alongside grilled fish. With grilled mackerel, spicy seasoned grilled mackerel, and aged kimchi mackerel to choose from, plus the freedom to add whatever you like from the self-serve bar, it made for a satisfying meal.
If you're looking for a clean, generous Korean restaurant near Tangjeong Station, Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo is worth a visit. Being able to eat as much pork stir-fry and side dishes as I wanted is what stuck with me most. Recommended for anyone searching for a Korean restaurant near Tangjeong Station.
