Bakery tour in Yeongdeungpo: fig pistachio tart at BYWAY BAKERS
In short
BYWAY BAKERS Yeongdeungpo Branch is a bakery café on Dangsan-ro 27-gil, one block from Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Station in Seoul. The order at BYWAY BAKERS was four items — a fig pistachio tart, fresh blueberry yogurt wakppu salt bread, an egg tart and an almond chocolate financier — and the balance of sweet, salty and tangy worked well. Prices are higher than a neighborhood bakery, but the lineup and presentation make BYWAY BAKERS a good choice for gifts too.

I'm a self-confessed bread lover, so whenever I visit a new neighborhood I like to go on a bakery tour to find whatever bakery the area is famous for.
This time I went to BYWAY BAKERS Yeongdeungpo Branch, a place I'd been wanting to try for a while thanks to its great reviews and gorgeous-looking bread and desserts. It's close to Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Station, so it's easy to reach — a good stop if you're hunting for a bakery near Yeongdeungpo-gu Office or a bakery café in Dangsan-dong.

What is the seating inside BYWAY BAKERS like?
BYWAY BAKERS Yeongdeungpo Branch is near Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Station but set one block back from the main road, so it felt quieter and cozier than I expected.
Stepping inside, I found a spacious, clean space with a warm yet stylish atmosphere.

With everything from group tables to a meeting room to window seats for one, it's a good spot to enjoy coffee and bread solo, and it also works well as a Yeongdeungpo date spot for spending relaxed time with a partner.

I heard that plenty of customers come here alone, on dates, or for group gatherings.

What bread is on the display shelves?

The moment I started really browsing the bread, my bread-lover eyes got busy. With a variety of baked goods, cookies, cakes, and pastries made fresh daily on display, it was fun just to look at everything one by one.

From salt bread to bagels, egg tarts, financiers, and cakes, the variety was impressive enough to make it a satisfying stop on a Yeongdeungpo bakery tour. Anyone who loves trendy desserts would find plenty to catch their eye.

The four items ordered at BYWAY BAKERS
- Fig pistachio tart
- Fresh blueberry yogurt wakppu salt bread
- Egg tart
- Almond chocolate financier
On this visit I picked the fig pistachio tart, fresh blueberry yogurt wakppu salt bread, egg tart, and almond chocolate financier.

Fig pistachio tart
First, the fig pistachio tart combined the mild sweetness of fig with the nutty flavor of pistachio really well. It looked pretty too, the kind of visual that would naturally draw the eye of anyone who loves dessert.

Fresh blueberry yogurt wakppu salt bread
The fresh blueberry yogurt wakppu salt bread was the item I was especially looking forward to on this visit. The crispy, salty salt bread paired with tangy blueberry and soft yogurt gave a great balance of sweet-salty and tangy flavors.
The wakppu salt bread comes in several styles — fig, blueberry, peach, and more — so there's fun in picking whichever suits your taste.

Egg tart and almond chocolate financier
The egg tart had a light, plain crust with a soft, moist filling inside — great to eat with coffee.
The almond chocolate financier combined nutty almond flavor with rich chocolate, making for a sweet yet deeply flavorful baked treat.
Overall, the prices run higher than a typical neighborhood bakery, but considering the trendy lineup, the combination of ingredients, and the good-looking presentation, I thought it would work well for a special occasion or as a gift. It's a good choice for gifting baked treats or Dubai-style dessert gifts too.
Is BYWAY BAKERS Yeongdeungpo worth a visit?
With such a wide variety of financiers, I'd also recommend it to anyone looking for a great financier spot. Whether you're after a great bagel spot, a strawberry cake spot, or good coffee in Seoul, there's something here for every taste, so it's worth keeping in mind when looking for a Yeongdeungpo café.
If you love good bread and desserts, I'd suggest remembering this as a restaurant near Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Station and visiting as part of a bakery tour. It's comfortable enough to enjoy alone, on a date, or with a group, making it a bakery café well suited to anyone searching for a hot spot in Yeongdeungpo.
