Yeongdeungpo bakery café group seats and 1pm sellouts: BYWAY BAKERS

I visited BYWAY BAKERS Yeongdeungpo Branch near Yeongdeungpogu Office Station! I knew it as a salt bread spot, but it turned out to be a café stocked with many kinds of bread. It's close to Exit 1 of Yeongdeungpogu Office Station.

There's plenty of seating inside, and it's on the larger side among cafés near Yeongdeungpogu Office Station. Aside from a few seats near the entrance, most tables were full, which shows how popular BYWAY BAKERS is.

They also sell goods, so I browsed while waiting for my order. There were eco bags, pens, and keyrings. There's a restroom inside and baby chairs too, so it looks comfortable for people coming with babies.

There's a group table for 10+ people and a 6-person meeting room, so group gatherings are possible too. The tables are spacious enough that I think a book club would work well here. It's close to the station and you get to eat bread too.

When does the bread come out? Sold out by 1pm

BYWAY BAKERS Yeongdeungpo Branch even posts bread release times at the entrance, and it seems you need to come around lunch to get the bread you want. I visited around 1pm and the popular breads were already down to a few pieces or sold out! If you buy 5 financiers, they'll pack them in a free package box, and they're also selling Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving) gift sets with good compositions — worth considering as a holiday gift.

Browsing the roughly 60 breads on the tables

BYWAY BAKERS Yeongdeungpo Branch has around 60 kinds of baked goods. There's so much variety that even though I'd just had lunch, I found myself wanting to try everything haha.

The jambon-beurre baguette is another item I'd want to try right away if I hadn't just eaten.

I love financiers, and the crispy-looking crust caught my eye right away haha.

The caramel macadamia financier was sold out, and there was only one madeleine left, which made me curious. Since it was my first visit, I picked the classic salty financier and also grabbed the wakppu salt bread I'd been curious about for a while! The peach yogurt wakppu salt bread was on discount.

They also sell whole cakes and cake slices, plus sandwiches and even Dubai chocolate salt bread — quite a range. It was my first time seeing wakppu financiers, and it seems like the 'crushing' (?) part would be satisfying haha.

The new fig pistachio tart also caught my eye. They even sell birthday candles, so if you're buying a cake, you could grab those at the same time. Aren't the bear-shaped character candles cute?

Taste test: fig batziche wakppu salt bread, egg tart and salty financier

Of the three wakppu salt bread varieties, I chose the fig batziche wakppu salt bread, and it had a different taste from bite to bite — sometimes yogurt cream, sometimes cheesecake — so it never got boring. It came with plastic gloves, so it was easy to eat outdoors too.

The egg tart was also fairly heavy and surprisingly filling.

The financier had a crispy exterior, crisp outside and moist inside. I ate the salt bread street-food style, and the butter aroma along with the crispy bottom crust! There's a reason BYWAY BAKERS is known for baked goods and salt bread!

BYWAY BAKERS Yeongdeungpo Branch is close to Yeongdeungpo Station, has spacious tables good for group gatherings, and stocks about 60 kinds of bread — a great place whether you want to take bread home or sit and enjoy it with coffee. Next time I'd like to try the new fig pistachio tart!
