With names like chili pesto stone-plate jajangmyeon and whole squid stone-plate jjamppong, the menu already sounded savory and packed with seafood, so I was so excited haha. Plus it's a Paju Chinese restaurant that's been featured on Morning Today and Live Bravo!

How much do three adults need to order?

We visited as three adults and ordered the stone-plate jjamppong (medium) + tungbosha set, adding one octopus (₩5,000)! The portion was so big that medium was more than enough! My mom told me three big-eating men once demolished both jjamppong and jajangmyeon together though, so just order according to your own appetite!! Spice level has 3 options to choose from 🌶️

Basic side dishes: pickled radish, raw onion, and chunjang

Instructions on how to best enjoy the stone-plate jjamppong

Here's the trick to enjoying the jjamppong and jajangmyeon best~ There's nurungji (crispy scorched rice) at the bottom of the stone plate, so don't scrape the bottom right from the start!

Trying the jjamppong + tungbosha (shrimp toast) set

The stone-plate jjamppong arrived sizzling hot, still bubbling, piled high with bean sprouts~~! The visual was amazing ✨✨

The octopus was so tender and chewy that I was so glad we added it — highly recommend!!!✨

The medium jjamppong portion felt like about 2–3 servings of the old Seogaandcook pasta!

Mixing everything together lightly wilts the bean sprouts. Squid, shrimp, octopus, wood ear mushroom, even scallops! It's packed with seafood, and the rich jjamppong broth paired with perfectly cooked noodles was just perfect

Four pieces of handmade tungbosha served with chili sauce

And the tungbosha (4 pcs) that came with the set. The chili sauce that came with it was so good too, and I've never seen shrimp toast this plump..!🍤 Cutting it in half, the shrimp filling was really thick and satisfying to bite into, and the outside was so crispy and delicious

Crispy nurungji lining the bottom of the stone plate

By the time we were nearly done, eating the crispy nurungji at the bottom made the meal even more filling and satisfying!

Dessert and receipt perks

At Dolpanseok Jjamppong Paju Simhaksan Branch, showing a same-day receipt gets you 10% off at Deo Milpung Bakery! There's also a coffee machine, rice crackers, and yogurt for dessert, which was great for settling your stomach! I highly recommend this Paju Chinese restaurant for jajangmyeon and jjamppong. I'm curious about the jajangmyeon and donchi-tang too, so I'd love to visit again!
