What kind of restaurant is Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch?

Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is an authentic Chinese restaurant located on the 2nd floor above Suybeon Choego Pork Gukbap, at 51 Marine City 3-ro, Haeundae-gu, Busan. It's open daily from 11:00 to 22:00, with a break time from 15:30 to 17:00 and last orders at 15:00 and 20:30. I'd been craving Chinese food for a while and found this place while searching around — it's right near the sea, so it was a great spot to enjoy the scenery while eating.

The restaurant is on the 2nd floor. There's an elevator right there so I rode up comfortably!

Where to park at Bueokgan Chinese in Marine City

For parking, you can use The Sharp Adelisse commercial parking lot right across from Hanwha Resort. Free parking is available for up to 90 minutes, which is helpful to know if you're driving over. That's a generous enough window to also stroll around the area after eating without worrying about the clock, so it was a comfortable visit overall.

A 330 m² dining room and the ocean view at dinner time

Walking inside, the interior was much bigger than I expected. Apparently it's about 330 m² (100 pyeong), with a panoramic view of the Dongbaekseom coastline.

The floor-to-ceiling windows mean that if you visit during the day, you can enjoy a gorgeous view of the ocean along with your meal. Sitting by the window would let you take in the whole Marine City atmosphere and sea view while eating, which would be even better. I visited in the evening, so unfortunately I couldn't see much of the view outside. If you go on a nice day, you'd get to enjoy both the food and the scenery, so I'd recommend a daytime visit :)

What we ordered and the weekday lunch set

We ordered black vinegar tangsuyuk (small), seafood jjamppong, and abalone shrimp fried rice. Apparently a lunch set is also available on weekdays from 11:00 to 15:00 — 200g of tangsuyuk plus two noodle dishes — so that's worth keeping in mind if you're after good value.

The food came out really quickly after ordering. There was almost no wait, so this would be a great spot to visit when you're hungry.

Black vinegar tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork, small)

First, the black vinegar tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) had tender meat fried crisp on the outside, so the texture was great. It had a chewiness reminiscent of glutinous-rice tangsuyuk, and it looked delicious too — I really enjoyed it.

Seafood jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup)

The seafood jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) had a refreshing broth thanks to the seafood. It uses thick noodles, so it felt different from a typical jjamppong.

Abalone shrimp fried rice

I was curious about the abalone fried rice since it was my first time trying it, and I could taste a subtle hint of butter in the rice. With abalone and shrimp both in the mix, the dish felt distinctive. There was also a jjajang sauce with meat served alongside, which I mixed into the rice.

By the way, they're running an event where you get free eohyang mandu (fish-flavored dumplings) if you leave a receipt photo review, so that's worth knowing if you're planning to visit.

Is Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch worth a visit?

If you visit during the day, you get to enjoy the Marine City atmosphere along with your Chinese food, which was a real plus. If you're looking for a Haeundae restaurant, a Dongbaekseom spot, or a Marine City restaurant with an ocean view where you can enjoy Chinese food, this one's worth considering :)
