In short
Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Tongdosa Branch is a chicken kalguksu restaurant near Tongdosa Temple and Sinpyeong Bus Terminal in Yangsan, Gyeongnam. A satisfyingly huge bowl of chicken near Tongdosa Temple, with homemade kalguksu (knife-cut noodles) to try at Eonyang Dak Kalguksu.

How close is it to Tongdosa Temple and the bus terminal?

This chicken kalguksu specialist is in Habuk-myeon, Yangsan. It is a franchise with branches nationwide, and just a 6-minute drive from Tongdosa Temple, Yangsan's No. 1 tourist attraction. From Tongdosa Sinpyeong Bus Terminal, it is a 2-minute drive or 3-minute walk. If you came to visit Tongdosa or are looking for a good restaurant near the bus terminal, this is the best choice✨️✌️

Eonyang Dak Kalguksu's kalguksu has perilla seeds added for a deeper flavor, while the house-made noodles have an extra-chewy texture. They sell milmyeon (cold wheat noodles) and jjimdak (braised chicken), too.
Is the parking lot spacious?

I came worried there might not be parking, but what a surprise! There is a very large dedicated parking lot right beside the restaurant. More than 10 cars can easily park at once👍
A clean interior with floor-to-ceiling windows

One side is entirely floor-to-ceiling windows, so it feels wonderfully open. I thought it would be an old local favorite, but the interior fixtures all looked new and everything was kept clean. Even though we arrived almost right at opening, there were already customers there, and people kept coming in after us.
Chicken kalguksu and chicken gomtang menu prices

Chicken + low-temperature-aged kalguksu is 10,000 won, and chicken gomtang (chicken soup with rice) is 10,000 won. Extra chicken is 4,000 won, while an extra-large serving and an extra bowl of rice are 1,000 won each. The extra chicken is half a chicken meant for samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup). Add it to the chicken gomtang and it is practically no different from samgyetang. Samgyetang usually starts at 16,000 won, but you can have it for 14,000 won at Eonyang Dak Kalguksu❤️ A Naver receipt review gets you one complimentary canned drink.
How spicy is the self-serve bar kimchi?

There are raw onions and ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste),

plus pickled radish and kimchi—two kinds of kimchi, in fact. There is a spicy one and a less-spicy one, but the kimchi is much hotter than you might expect, so be careful.

Salt for dipping the chicken is also portioned out in advance.
Extra-large chicken kalguksu: a truly bursting-full amount

Chicken kalguksu + extra-large serving (₩11,000). We ordered their signature chicken kalguksu. Chicken and noodles together: two birds with one stone. It came in a stainless-steel bowl practically the size of a washbasin🫢

Can you believe this is only 11,000 won? I'm a chubby pig who normally eats a lot, so I boldly asked for extra noodles and then regretted it! There was seriously so much that even after eating and eating, it felt like the amount never went down. They were also generous with half a chicken, including a drumstick.

The chicken is seasoned by default, so it is tasty on its own, but I like salty flavors, so I dipped it in salt, nom nom nom, and picked it off the bone.

The chicken was so tender. No need for further words—it was delicious. Even my husband, who has a small appetite, added extra chicken and still polished it all off despite the huge amount🤣😂🤣😂

I said above that the kimchi was spicy, but they serve the less-spicy kimchi as the default, and you can freely bring more from the self-serve bar. Even the less-spicy kimchi is fairly hot when eaten on its own.

But we did not come here just to eat kimchi, did we? With the kalguksu in its rich chicken-bone broth, the heat definitely feels milder. It turns into a spice level that pairs just right🤤 (Maybe they made the kimchi with even this in mind.)

The broth is nuttier and richer with the added perilla seeds.

Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Tongdosa Branch is a satisfying restaurant with faultless flavor and portions, plus prices, cleanliness, and service that all pleased me. I'd happily return~@@
