Today I'm sharing a review of a Busan Haeundae restaurant I visited with my family. Since it was a meal out with a 5-month-old baby, I paid close attention to stroller access, baby chairs, the store environment, and parking. Gwang-anmok Haeundae Branch (광안목 해운대점) is a pork BBQ restaurant located right on the main street of Haeundae, so it was super accessible! 📍 It's on the 2nd floor of the building with Goraesa Fish Cake and Artbox on the main Gunam-ro street, so it's easy to find!

It's such a well-known hot spot that a wait is basically required during peak hours, so I'd recommend keeping that in mind before you visit!

What's on the self-serve side dish bar at Gwang-anmok

The interior of Gwang-anmok Haeundae Branch was kept pleasant and clean. What stood out most was the neatly maintained self-serve bar.

• Side dishes: an array of pickled sides that cut through the richness, like pickled onion, mustard leaf kimchi, aged kimchi, pickled young radish, and pickled chili
• Wrap greens & seasonings: seasoned water dropwort, lettuce, garlic, chili peppers, anchovy salt, shichimi (Japanese seven-spice), and ssamjang (dipping paste)

Not only were the basic side dishes set out neatly, but you could also freely help yourself to as much of any extra sides and seasonings as you wanted, which was very satisfying.

Ordering the A Set plus one order of dugeopsal

We first ordered Gwang-anmok Haeundae Branch's A Set (made up of aged pork belly and chewy pork neck), then added an order of dugeopsal, a specialty cut I'd been curious about, to round out the meal.

How the aged pork belly and chewy pork neck taste (A Set)

As soon as the meat came out, I was struck by the thick cuts and the bright pink marbling. Thanks to the staff's expert tableside grilling, I was able to eat comfortably and deliciously while still keeping an eye on my 5-month-old.

• Pork neck: not dry at all — the moment you bit in, the juices burst out with a wonderfully tender texture.
• Pork belly: the ratio of savory fat to lean meat was perfect, so even with just a light dip in salt, the flavor was outstanding.

Why basil leaf wraps work with Gwang-anmok's pork

I tried Gwang-anmok's signature basil wrap together with the nicely browned meat, and the fresh, fragrant flavor of the basil blended with the savory richness of the meat for an even fuller taste.

Dugeopsal (pork belly cap): the best texture on the grill

After enjoying the A Set, we added dugeopsal, a cut with a distinctive chewy-yet-crunchy texture that was really charming. The more you chew, the more that crisp, springy flavor comes alive — a recommended menu item I would've been sorry to miss.

Can you bring a 5-month-old baby to Gwang-anmok Haeundae?

I was worried about smoke and ventilation since we were bringing a 5-month-old to a BBQ restaurant, but Gwang-anmok Haeundae Branch has good ventilation, so we could eat comfortably. The space is also spacious and elevator access is available, making it a great place to visit with young children or as a family.

Final verdict and tips for visiting Gwang-anmok Haeundae Branch

• Parking convenience: even though it's in the heart of Haeundae's Gunam-ro area, 1 hour of free parking at the designated lot is available, making it very convenient if you're driving. (Undong 541-16)
• Taste and service: the tableside grilling service makes for an easy, comfortable meal, and the meat quality — pork belly, pork neck, and dugeopsal alike — is excellent.

• Visit tip: a wait is essentially required during evening peak hours, so I'd recommend visiting right after break time or during a less busy window.
