First photo from the visit to Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch

Today I want to introduce a Goyang restaurant I revisited with my family, Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch. Last time I visited, the food was great and the restaurant was spacious and comfortable, so I came back again for a family meal! There are plenty of places to eat around Seooreung, but if you're looking for a Chinese restaurant with easy parking that's good for eating with family, this is one I'd recommend.

We visited during weekend lunch hours, and the restaurant was almost full before 12 o'clock. There were a lot of customers last time too, and this time it was packed again, which confirmed it's really a well-known spot near Seooreung. Since the space is large, it didn't feel crowded at all. There's also seating on the second floor.

What the family ordered, and how fast it arrived

The table already had basic side dishes, water, and sauces like soy sauce and vinegar set out.

Table set with jjamppong, jjajangmyeon, crab fried rice, mara mandu and tangsuyuk

We ordered jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles), crab fried rice, mara mandu (Sichuan pepper dumplings) and tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork). Even though it was a very busy weekend lunch hour, the food didn't take long to come out. The dishes arrived almost all at once, so we could start eating right away without waiting, which was great!

How do the tangsuyuk, mara mandu, jjamppong and jjajangmyeon taste?

A plate of tangsuyuk with crispy batter

The dish we enjoyed most was the tangsuyuk! I remembered it being delicious last time too, so I ordered it again this time, and sure enough the crispy batter paired well with the sweet and tangy sauce.

Close-up of tangsuyuk with sauce and onion

I tried it with onion, and the tangy sauce combined with the crunchy onion cut through the richness and was really tasty.

The mara mandu was also a side dish I'd recommend. The filling was packed in, you could taste a spicy, numbing mala flavor, and the outside was fried crispy, so it was great to pop one in between other bites!

A bowl of jjajangmyeon with generous sauce
Jjajangmyeon noodles mixed with sauce

The jjajangmyeon portion was really generous, with plenty of noodles and sauce, so it was good for sharing with family, and the flavor was the familiar, classic kind that most people would like!

A bowl of jjamppong with a sharp, spicy broth
Lifting a serving of jjamppong noodles

The jjamppong had a nice sharp, spicy broth. It wasn't overwhelmingly hot but had a clean, warming kick that pretty much anyone could enjoy, and the noodles were chewy too, which made it even better!

Fluffy crab fried rice with black bean sauce

Finally, the crab fried rice had fluffy grains and was packed with crab meat, which paired well with the black bean sauce. We ordered a lot of different dishes, but every single one was delicious, and in the end my whole family finished the meal completely full!
