Ordered dishes laid out on the table

What we ordered at Jjamppong Jijeon and what it cost

— Order —

  • Jijon Jjamppong — ₩13,000
  • Jjamjjamyeon — ₩14,000
  • Sweet & sour crispy rice pork (small) — ₩19,000
  • Sample jjamppong fried mandu, 4pcs — ₩4,500

We went back and forth but ended up ordering one of everything on the signature menu lol

How spicy is Jijon Jjamppong at hell level 2?

My boyfriend ordered the Jijon Jjamppong at hell level 2! That level is slightly milder than buldak (fire chicken) spice, but still spicy and sharp enough to suit his taste for hot food well!

The broth was rich and soaked deeply into the noodles — genuinely so good. That broth is legendary, seriously delicious.

Jjamjjamyeon at hell level 1: how was the jjajangmyeon side?

I wanted both jjajangmyeon and jjamppong, so I ordered jjamjjamyeon (a half-and-half of both)

The jjamppong side of the jjamjjamyeon tasted just like the Jijon Jjamppong, and since I ordered hell level 1, it was moderately spicy and sharp — suited my taste perfectly!!! They really know how to make jjamppong~

The jjajangmyeon was glossy and shiny, a textbook old-school jjajangmyeon — sweet, salty, and bold, so it was great to alternate bites with the jjamppong

We turned the leftovers into jjamppong-bap and jjajang-bap! The jjamppong broth was so good that even though I was full, I found myself still scooping rice into it,,, that broth is seriously addictive. I'm normally team jjajang, but here — jjamppong wins!

New menu: jjamppong fried mandu (spicy dumplings)

Next, a great side to pair with the meal — the newly launched jjamppong fried mandu (dumpling)!

Fried mandu packed full of jjamppong juices!!!! This is seriously so good 🩷

Four pieces of the new jjamppong fried mandu

The frying is really crispy, and inside is packed with jjamppong juices,, genuinely delicious, you have to try this

Small sweet-and-sour crispy rice pork (tangsuyuk)

Sweet and sour rice-flour pork~~

Pale golden batter on the crispy rice pork

The tangsuyuk looked like it was fried in clean oil — pale, golden batter, crispy outside and chewy inside from the rice flour, a textbook example of the dish!

No gamey smell from the meat at all, and the pieces were thick, so it had a satisfying chew haha

The sweet potato fries that came with the tangsuyuk were fried nice and crispy — they really know how to fry things well!!

We cleaned every plate and left very satisfied~~

Finished off with a caffe latte~~
