After a really intense swim session I was craving something filling, haha. So my partner and I debated what to eat and Chinese food suddenly sounded amazing, so we headed to Jjambbong Jijon, the Chinese restaurant everyone raves about near Bucheon City Hall Station.

Visiting for the Nth time — the Chinese restaurant favorite near Bucheon City Hall Station, Jjambbong Jijon

I usually park in the public lot in front, but since I planned to hit a café after eating, I parked in the underground lot this time since it gives 2 hours free. The spaces are wide too, so parking was easy.

The public lot out front gives 1 hour free parking, so if you're just eating and heading straight out, I'd recommend that one instead~

Lunchtime at Jjambbong Jijon and the unlimited-rice self-bar

We visited during lunchtime and the place was packed with customers — a true Chinese restaurant favorite, Jjambbong Jijon.

Every time I come back it's always clean and well-organized. Today, no exception — spotless as ever~

The self-bar has various side dishes plus tableware, small plates, and hair ties. And rice is unlimited too, so you can totally get jjamppong-bap after your jjamppong, or jjajang-bap after your jjajangmyeon. Plus a drink after the meal — ooh, the owner really gets what customers need!

Jjambbong Jijon menu and what we ordered

Starting from the signature jijon jjamppong, there are plenty of fusion menu items like rice noodle, sujebi (hand-torn dough soup), and soft tofu jjamppong. Plus classic Chinese mains like jijon jjajang, tangsuyuk, and fried rice galore. FYI — since it's the restaurant's 5th anniversary, you can enjoy jjajangmyeon for just ₩7,000!

How does the 7,000 won jijon jjajang taste?

I love that they give you individually wrapped pickled radish like this

The delicious-looking dishes came out not long after ordering

First up, the jijon jjajang. The fragrant black bean sauce smell got my mouth watering like crazy~~

They give you a generous amount of sauce, and the noodles were cooked just right so they mixed together beautifully. I like it when the vegetables are cut into big chunks, and this was exactly my style!

After eating about half, I sprinkled on some chili flakes too, chomp chomp chomp. Honestly, even though the restaurant's name is Jjambbong Jijon, it's so good you could rename it Jjajang Jijon

Soft tofu jjamppong noodles at hell level 1: how spicy is it really?

Then the soft tofu jjamppong noodles. My spice-wimp partner, of all things, decided to order it at level 1 hell, trying to eat spicy for once..? Haha, big mistake incoming~~

Anyway, the soft tofu jjamppong noodles come packed with soft tofu and loads of seafood — a truly delicious fusion jjamppong menu item

My partner took one bite and their face turned bright red, but said it was spicy in a good way and claimed they can handle spicy food well now, lol

Then they demolished the noodles in no time and even mixed in rice to make jjamppong-bap~? Ooh~ look who's leveling up, haha

Sticky rice tangsuyuk (small, 19,000 won) and jjamppong fried dumplings

Next, the small sticky rice tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork). At Jjambbong Jijon, the Chinese restaurant favorite near Bucheon City Hall Station, tangsuyuk is a must-order item

It's fried so well you can practically feel the crunch just by looking at it, and I think they use clean oil because the tangsuyuk always looks perfectly golden, haha

Wrapping it in the onion that comes with it and dipping it in sauce is pure bliss. The ratio of sticky rice batter to meat is the golden ratio, so beyond the taste, the texture is insane too;;

The sweet potato fries that come with the tangsuyuk are no joke either~~

Last but not least, the jjamppong-flavored fried dumplings. Visually they look similar to kimchi dumplings

But one bite and you'll realize they're on a totally different level from kimchi dumplings — packed with that smoky jjamppong flavor. The filling is generous and the spiciness is oddly addictive, so I kept reaching for more

If you parked in the public lot, make sure to register your parking at checkout. If you parked underground, just grab the parking ticket on your way out.

After swimming hard today I was starving and completely drained, but eating all these delicious dishes at Jjambbong Jijon, the Chinese restaurant favorite near Bucheon City Hall Station, seemed to bring my energy right back, haha. Thanks to that, I even had the strength to head to work afterward! Writing this post has already made my mouth water again, so I think I'll have to visit again soon><
