There are days when I'm especially craving Chinese food, my go-to soul food, so I went looking for a Chinese restaurant near Sinjung-dong Station where I could dig into a spicy, hearty soup and crispy fried food to my heart's content — and found a real hotspot!

Inside the restaurant
As soon as I stepped inside, a clean and spacious dining hall came into view.
The tables were spaced out comfortably, making for a relaxed dining atmosphere.
There was even a coffee machine and a dessert drink corner with plum and grapefruit drinks for a clean palate-cleanser after the meal — I was impressed by the owner's thoughtful touch.
The self-bar with unlimited rice refills
The self-bar at Jjambbong Jijon Bucheon Jung-dong Branch is in the center of the restaurant, and rice is served on a free refill basis. After ordering, I headed to the self-bar in the middle of the room.
Rice comes with unlimited refills! For anyone who loves mixing rice into a spicy jjamppong broth, this place is basically heaven 🍚✨

What we ordered
We went all in and ordered jjajangmyeon and jjamppong, plus fried dumplings and sticky rice sweet and sour pork as sides.
Jijon Jjamppong (13,000 won + 2,500 won): rice noodle swap with sujebi
At this restaurant, you can swap the noodles for rice noodles, which makes it easier on the stomach if you prefer that. We also added sujebi (hand-torn dough) on top.
The moment I took a sip of the broth, a smoky wok-hei aroma wafted up along with a deep, spicy flavor that filled my mouth 🤤
The chewy, soft rice noodles combined with the springy texture of the sujebi made for a great combo.
The seafood and meat toppings were also generous, so the portion was really enormous.
Jijon Jjajangmyeon, black bean noodles (7,000 won)
The glossy, shiny jjajangmyeon had a classic flavor that anyone would like, no strong preferences involved!
The savory jjajang sauce clung to the noodles, nutty and sweet,
and it was the perfect sweet-and-salty pairing alongside the jjamppong!
Sticky-rice tangsuyuk, small (19,000 won)
The sticky rice sweet and sour pork, fried golden in clean oil, was crispy outside and chewy inside — texture perfection.
The meat inside the batter was thick, so it had a great bite,
and it paired really well with the sweet and tangy sauce 😋
Fried dumplings (4,000 won)
Fresh out of the fryer and piping hot, the fried dumplings had a crispy skin packed full of filling!
Biting in released a savory burst of juice, and dipping them lightly in the jjamppong broth was a real treat ✨
And even the complimentary jjamppong dumplings 👍🏻 A hearty lunch, complete.
