Chuseok sale weekend anchovy oil pasta at Gijang outlet: Bueokgan

In short

Bueokgan Restaurant is a Western restaurant at the very back of NORTH 1F in Shinsegae Simon Busan Premium Outlets in Gijang, Busan. On a Chuseok sale weekend the writer came with her mother and paid 49,500 won in total for shrimp anchovy oil pasta at 18,000 won, jambon pizza at 24,000 won and drinks. The savoury depth of the anchovy pasta and the wood-fired pizza dough both delivered, making Bueokgan an easy choice for a meal before or after outlet shopping.

Bringing you my review of a great weekend shopping-and-outing spot with my mom — Bueokgan Restaurant, Shinsegae Premium Outlet branch, a Western restaurant in Gijang, Busan!

Entrance to Bueokgan amid weekend shopping crowds at the Gijang outlet

Bueokgan already had a great reputation for atmosphere and taste at its Haeundae and Marine City locations, so I heard it had reopened reinterpreted for an outlet setting and decided to check it out! It was the weekend so the outlet was packed, but this place let us eat in a relaxed atmosphere despite the crowds outside.

Where is Bueokgan in the Gijang outlet, and where do you park?

Bueokgan Restaurant is at the very back of NORTH 1F, Shinsegae Premium Outlets Gijang, Busan. Enter by car, head to NORTH 1F on your left, and parking is free.

  • 🍓Location: innermost part of NORTH 1F inside the Shinsegae Premium Outlets Gijang, Busan
  • 🍓Finding it: after entering by car, head to NORTH 1F on your left. It's in front of the UGG store, just inside the escalator! A WINE shop and a SYSTEM store are nearby on the right.
  • 🍓Parking: plenty of convenient parking inside the outlet, and it's free!

It's really convenient to reach along your outlet shopping route, so it's great for a meal before or after shopping — and with Chuseok sales and lots to see and do, it's a solid weekend outing plan I'd recommend!

Inside Bueokgan: the look of the room and whether kids fit in

The exterior of Bueokgan's Gijang outlet branch is striking, with classic brick and an arched facade, and stepping inside you're greeted by warm wood-toned interiors with a European feel.

The cute, tasteful frames on the walls and the cozy lighting make it a nice date spot too, and since it's a YES Kids Zone fully equipped with baby chairs and baby tableware, it also works well for family meals with kids. It seemed especially well known as a spot for family gatherings and get-togethers!

Shrimp anchovy oil pasta: how spicy is it?

The shrimp anchovy oil pasta (18,000 won) is an oil pasta generously loaded with big, plump shrimp. The umami of the anchovy and the savoriness of the oil soaked well into the noodles, and the cherry tomatoes, garlic, and pepperoncino cut through any richness completely, so I enjoyed it to the very last bite. The noodles were cooked just right! Spice-wise, it might be a bit much for someone who really can't handle spice, but it wasn't super hot, so it was totally manageable. I really loved that it wasn't greasy!!

Jambon pizza: wood-fired dough and crushed pistachio

This is the jambon pizza, one of Bueokgan's signature menu items. On top of dough baked golden in a wood-fired oven sits plenty of salty, soft jambon (ham), plus savory crushed pistachio and sun-dried tomatoes that really elevated the flavor. The crispy yet chewy dough paired beautifully with the toppings.
