Kid-friendly chicken restaurant in Myeongji, Busan: Jump Café Deultong

Hi, this is Chareum. When eating out with a kid, you end up weighing everything from the menu to the vibe of the place. This time I visited a slightly unusual spot in Myeongji — a place where two different spaces, Deultong Beer and Jump Café, are connected like one store.

At first I wondered, can I really bring a kid to a beer place? But when the owner saw we had a child with us, he told us the Jump Café side would be more comfortable and led us there.

To cut to the chase — our kid ate the chicken so well!! The only real letdown for my husband and me was that we couldn't drink beer because we'd driven there.

Deultong Beer and Jump Café under one roof

What surprised me most walking into Jump Café × Deultong Beer Myeongji International Branch was the layout. Deultong Beer and Jump Café aren't run with the exact same atmosphere — each space is separate, but they connect further inside.

Since we came with a kid, the owner said the Jump Café side would be cleaner and more comfortable than the bar-style space, and seated us there. When you're with a child, these small gestures stick with you!

Sitting down and looking at the menu... there were way more options than I expected. Fried rice, pasta, tteokbokki, plus sides like fried snacks and sausages, and even waffles, croffles, and bakery items.

The Jump Café side we used runs as a café during the day, so there was a wide variety of drinks too — coffee, lattes, ades. The desserts especially looked delicious, so I'd love to come back during the day for coffee and waffles haha.

Ordering the boneless fried chicken

With so many options, we deliberated a long time before ordering boneless fried chicken since we were eating with our kid. I originally picked it thinking it'd be easy for the child to eat... but it ended up being the most surprisingly good dish of the day.

One bite in, the outside was genuinely crispy, but the batter wasn't heavy or greasy — it was light, so I kept reaching for more. And the kid's reaction is always the most honest indicator lol. Our child tried one piece, said it was delicious, and kept picking up more one by one... so proud...!

The cabbage side that came with it seemed simple, but it was surprisingly tasty, so I kept reaching for it between bites of chicken. My husband and I kept saying, "wow, this really calls for beer..." lolol. Crispy chicken really does make you crave a cold beer.

But of all days, both of us had driven, so we could only watch the beer from afar. Next time we're definitely leaving the car at home...

How tender is the whole electric-roasted chicken?

Alongside the boneless chicken, we ordered the whole electric-roasted rotisserie chicken. You can actually see chickens turning and browning inside the store, and once you see that, you can't not order it lol.

As soon as the whole chicken arrived, the owner personally carved it into easy-to-eat pieces. A whole roasted chicken is delicious, but tearing it apart at the table yourself is messy and gets your hands dirty — with it pre-cut into bite-sized pieces, we could just pick pieces up one by one, which was way easier eating with a kid.

The flavor was completely different from the boneless chicken. The outside was nicely browned, and the meat inside was way more tender and moist than I expected. My husband's been working out lately so he stuck mostly to the chicken breast lol. Usually rotisserie chicken breast gets dry if it's not done right and you end up needing water. Here, the breast wasn't dry at all — he kept saying it was delicious and tender.

I went for the juicier parts, my husband for the chicken breast, and our kid dug into the boneless chicken lol — everyone ate according to their own taste, very satisfying.

Good for family dinners and group gatherings

Visiting in person, what I liked as much as the food was the space. Families like ours with kids could comfortably eat in the brighter, cleaner Jump Café side. And for group visits, they said they arrange seating so each party can share one space together depending on the situation.

So it seemed like a good fit not just for family meals but also for work dinners or gatherings with several people in Myeongji. Since I have a kid, places with a strong bar atmosphere can feel uncomfortable to sit in for long, but here, having a separate café space made that less of a concern.

And above all, the owner was so kind! Seeing we had a child, he made sure to think about our seating and carved the rotisserie chicken into easy pieces for us, which made the whole meal comfortable.

Honestly, before visiting, the name "Deultong Beer" made me picture just a chicken-and-beer spot. Coming here in person, though, it was connected to Jump Café, which made it surprisingly comfortable to eat with a kid, and the menu options were pretty diverse. Both set menus and single dishes were well put together, so it was easy to choose based on what you're in the mood for! The boneless chicken especially — our kid ate it so well I think we'd order it again next time haha.

Next time I want to stop by Jump Café during the day for the coffee and desserts I had my eye on, and above all... I'm definitely leaving the car at home so I can finally have chicken with a beer...!!! If you're looking for a restaurant in Myeongji, Busan to visit with a kid, or somewhere to comfortably eat everything from fried chicken to whole rotisserie chicken, this place might be worth keeping in mind.
