It's located in the building right next to Daiso in Hanam-dong, Gwangju, and parking is available, so it was convenient to visit by car.

I was looking around for a hair salon in the Hanam-dong area of Gwangju, and Eco Revi Hair & Spa Gwangju Hanam Branch kept coming up when I searched for volume magic straightening or layered cuts. It's actually a salon I visit regularly, so I felt totally comfortable going. The shop itself was pretty spacious and nicely decorated, which made getting my hair done there even more relaxing.

How the consultation went

What I care about most when choosing a hair salon is whether they do a thorough consultation. I think it's much better when they talk through your current hair condition, how you usually style it, and the look you want — instead of just glancing at your hair length and diving straight into the treatment. (And of course, going over pricing in detail too!!) This time, designer Soyeon gave me a really thorough consultation before we started.

Prices at Eco Revi Hair & Spa Gwangju Hanam Branch were also reasonable, and with first-visit promotions or membership events, you can book even more affordably and get good value. It varies a bit depending on the designer, the combination of treatments, and hair length, but overall it was better value than other places I've seen...!! They also have programs that combine scalp and hair diagnosis, scaling, and hair clinic treatments, so it seems like a good option for anyone dealing with hair loss concerns or wanting scaling done too.

How long the volume magic straightening + layered cut took

The volume magic straightening and layered cut together took about 1.5 to 2 hours in total, and throughout the treatment they kept checking whether my hair was too hot or if anything felt uncomfortable, so I could relax the whole time. They also gave me an iced americano and some light snacks as a service, which made the time pass pleasantly!!

The finished style

After finishing the volume magic straightening, they moved on to the layered cut, and I asked for something that would lighten the heavy, weighed-down feeling — and they nailed exactly what I wanted, so I was really satisfied. I also loved that the volume magic straightening wasn't just about pin-straight hair, but gave an overall calm, tidy finish with a natural fall to it 👍 Next time I'd love to try the head spa or scalp care too.

Waiting room and seat spacing

There's a waiting area set up on one side of the shop, which is nice if someone comes along with you and needs a comfortable place to wait during the treatment. The whole salon was clean overall, and the spacing between seats wasn't cramped, so even a long treatment felt fairly comfortable.

Frizzy curly hair — is it easier to manage now?

Personally, the thing I was most satisfied with this time was definitely how much easier my hair is to manage now. Just blow-drying it in the morning leaves it much calmer, and it doesn't cling in that stiflingly flat way anymore! I think the best approach isn't just following whatever style is trendy, but getting a consultation and making a decision based on how you actually style your hair day to day and how much upkeep you can realistically handle.
