Gwangju Cheomdan hair salon blue ash tone-down for faded hair: Eomaek

In short

Eomaek Hair Project Cheomdan Branch is a hair salon on the 3rd floor of a building on Imbangul-daero 825beon-gil in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju. A color dyed 3 months earlier had faded to orange, so designer Eunbin recommended a full tone-down mixed with blue ash, followed by a cut shaped to the face. The finish was a calm blue ash with no red left, and the color drew compliments for weeks.

Hi, it's Ddooni! I glanced in the mirror one day and got a shock — the dye job I'd done three months ago had faded into a reddish-orange mess.

I figured I needed to sort out my messy hair tone, so I diligently went hair-salon hunting.

And that's how I ended up booking an appointment at Eomaek Hair Project Cheomdan Branch, which I'd had my eye on for a while.

Consultation: turning faded orange hair into a full tone-down

Sitting down and looking in the mirror, my dry, orange-faded hair bothered me even more.

Hair before treatment, faded to an orange tone

To welcome autumn, I went with a full tone-down! Designer Eunbin, who was in charge of me, carefully checked my hair condition first.

Instead of just covering it with a darker shade, she found a customized color that matched my skin tone and my hair's melanin characteristics.

Consultation and color selection process

After the consultation, we decided on an ash direction to tame the red tones. I was secretly worried it might turn greenish, but Eunbin said she'd subtly mix in a blue ash tone. Her detailed, expert explanation put me at ease with the whole process.

While the color was applied and I waited, a warm cup of tea helped melt away the tension.

A cut shaped to the face, plus a scalp massage

After the dye was done, the cut was designed to suit my face shape. It wasn't just trimming length — she carefully asked questions and layered the cut to compensate for the weak points of my face shape.

Every snip of the scissors felt full of care. And she matched everything I asked for! When I came out from the wash with the cool water rinsing away the heat on my scalp, it felt so refreshing. The scalp massage was excellent too.

Hair after cut and blow-dry

The blue ash tone-down result

My hair really looks pretty, right??! The moment I faced the mirror after the finished blow-dry, I couldn't help but gasp.

The messy orange tint was completely gone, replaced by a calm yet luxurious blue ash color that brightened up my whole face.

Not a single awkward spot — the cut line fit my face shape perfectly too.

It was one of those moments where I nodded along, understanding exactly why Designer Eunbin's thorough diagnosis and standards are so well known. For days afterward, every time I met friends, I heard endless compliments about how pretty my hair color was.

I can barely believe I'm the same person who used to sigh at my messy hair every time I looked in the mirror — I'm thoroughly satisfied.
