Anyang brunch café for milk tea and gnocchi in one sitting: Eggroom

I was looking for a brunch spot in Dongpyeon-maeul, Anyang, and ended up at Eggroom. Here's what I tried — egg benedict, corn cream gnocchi, and the signature milk tea — plus my honest thoughts.

Honestly, there are plenty of cafés in Dongpyeon-maeul, but ones where you can get a proper brunch and not just coffee are harder to find, right? That's why I went to Eggroom in Dongpyeon-maeul this time!

That day, we ordered one egg benedict and one corn cream gnocchi, plus an iced Americano and a signature milk tea, and tried everything together. Bottom line up front: the corn cream gnocchi was my favorite, and surprisingly the milk tea stuck with me too!! The egg benedict was exactly what you'd expect from a brunch dish, and the gnocchi was more to my taste than I expected — if you're going as a pair, I'd recommend splitting one of each. Eggroom is located at 📍 26 Dongpyeon-ro 49beon-gil, Dongan-gu, Anyang-si, Gyeonggi-do. If you're looking for a date spot around Dongpyeon-maeul, this is one I'd recommend.

I personally prefer places where you can go from a meal straight to coffee, rather than drinking coffee at a café and then moving somewhere else to eat. In that sense, being able to have brunch and coffee in one place was convenient. Especially on weekends, moving around from place to place gets kind of tiring...

Sitting comfortably through brunch and then finishing with coffee before leaving — that flow worked really well for me. Here's what the space feels like.

Eggroom menu and prices

We ordered egg benedict for ₩15,000 and corn cream gnocchi for ₩17,000. For drinks, an iced Americano at ₩4,000 and a signature milk tea at ₩6,000! We went as a pair and ordered two food items plus one of each drink — I much prefer picking two different dishes to share rather than two similar ones.

Egg benedict was the classic brunch feel we all expect, while the corn cream gnocchi was a bit richer and nuttier, so eating them together meant the flavors didn't overlap, which I liked.

What does Eggroom's 15,000-won egg benedict taste like?

Coming to a brunch café and not ordering egg benedict feels like a waste, right? So I ordered one, and yep — the visual alone was pure brunch!! You pop the poached egg and eat it with the bread; the soft yolk soaking into the bread made for a pretty solid bite.

Vegetables came alongside it too, so it didn't feel as heavy as I expected. I've had brunch before where I ordered several sauce-heavy dishes, and the first few bites were great but I got sick of it by the end. But this time, alternating between the egg benedict, a bite of the corn gnocchi, and coffee, I enjoyed it all the way through.

And make sure you take a photo before you pop the poached egg!!! The moment you break it, the whole visual changes completely... I made sure to snap a photo before eating too.

Why the 17,000-won corn cream gnocchi was the best dish

And here's what I enjoyed most that day — the corn cream gnocchi! It's ₩17,000, and honestly, at first the egg benedict was supposed to be the main dish, with the gnocchi more of a side to share. But once I actually tasted it, my chopsticks kept going back... I worried the cream base might be too heavy, but the naturally sweet, nutty corn flavor cut through it, making it much more to my taste than a plain cream dish would've been.

The gnocchi had a chewy texture, with bits of corn mixed in for extra bite, so it wasn't just soft — the texture itself was fun to eat. If the egg benedict was the 'yes, this is brunch' kind of dish, the corn cream gnocchi was the one I kept thinking about afterward. I think I'd order the gnocchi again without hesitation next time. If you like cream sauce and sweet corn flavors, definitely give this one a try!!!

Signature milk tea 6,000 won and iced Americano 4,000 won

And just as surprising as the food was the signature milk tea. The iced Americano was ₩4,000, and the signature milk tea was ₩6,000 — honestly I ordered the milk tea without much expectation.

But after one sip, the flavor really came through — wait, this is actually pretty good? I prefer milk tea where the flavor comes through rather than one that's just sweet, and this suited slowly sipping after brunch really well.

We also ordered the Americano, and taking a sip while eating the corn cream gnocchi helped reset the palate from the nutty, creamy taste — that combo worked well too. So that day, there was no need to go find another café afterward — I just sat there and finished the drinks before leaving.

What to order at Eggroom if you're going as a pair

That's Eggroom, the place I found while looking for good brunch spots in Anyang's Dongpyeon-maeul. If I had to pick just one dish from that day, I'd probably go with the corn cream gnocchi. Funny enough, I went planning to eat the egg benedict, but the one that kept coming to mind afterward was the gnocchi.
