Hi, this is Bami! Whenever I'm looking for a nice-vibe café or a good brunch spot in Anyang, I always end up browsing the Dongpyeon-maeul café street. This time I visited Notten, a well-known brunch café there. It serves a brunch menu built around house-made wheat bread and pork neck bacon, and the coffee comes with a choice of several specialty beans, so it was a great place to enjoy both brunch and coffee together. Let me walk you through the Wheat Bread Plate & Pork Neck Bacon and the Americano we tried!!

📍 Notten 🕒 Daily 09:00–18:00 (closed Mon, Tue) Reservations, parking, and takeout available
Notten sits right on the Dongpyeon-maeul café street, so it's a great spot to drop into while wandering the area.

Even before stepping inside, the place had a clean, relaxed feel. There's a patch of lawn out front and a floor-to-ceiling window, which gave it a really open feeling haha.

Parking is available behind the building for about 4–5 cars!!

Inside Notten: floor-to-ceiling windows and the lawn view
Inside, Notten is a spacious room done in white and gray tones with touches of wood, with a high ceiling and an open kitchen layout. My favorite spot was by the window, where you can see grass and trees through the glass.
Walking in, the interior was bigger than I expected. It was decorated cleanly in mostly white and gray, with wood accents scattered throughout that kept it feeling warm rather than cold haha.

With the high ceiling and open kitchen, the space felt even bigger. Because the kitchen is fully visible, you can naturally watch the food being prepared, and overall it gave off a well-kept, clean impression.

But what I liked most about Notten was the view through that big window. Looking out at the grass and trees beyond the glass, there was zero sense of feeling boxed in indoors. On a nice day, sitting by the window with a coffee and just relaxing for a while sounded really lovely haha.

Just a heads up — after ordering, you need to grab your own utensils and supplies from the self bar in the middle of the café!!
What we ordered at Notten and what it cost

- 2 Americanos – ₩10,000

Notten sells more than just brunch — there was a whole range of bakery items and desserts too. They bake the bread in-house and prepare the brunch ingredients themselves, which made me even more excited to try it haha.
What comes on the Wheat Bread Plate & Pork Neck Bacon
The Wheat Bread Plate & Pork Neck Bacon at Notten comes with two kinds of wheat bread, pork neck bacon, cheese, peach jam, and a soft-boiled egg. It's more of a full meal than a light brunch.
Wheat Bread Plate & Pork Neck Bacon

With the wheat bread plate and pork neck bacon served together, it looked substantial enough to be a proper meal rather than a light brunch.

They said the bread is house-made wheat bread, so I was curious whether it would taste different from regular bread haha.

Two kinds of wheat bread came out, and the plain flavor of the bread itself really stood out. It was very soft, and the loaf-style bread had lots of nuts studded on top, which was a nice touch.

Eating the bread with the pork neck bacon and cheese together, the plain bread, salty bacon, and nutty cheese combined really well, and since the bread wasn't overpowering, the overall flavor balance was great!!

How Notten's house-cured pork neck bacon tastes
Notten uses pork neck bacon that they cure themselves, and compared to regular bacon, you could taste a bit more of that distinctive pork neck flavor. Eaten with the bread, the savory, salty flavor made it hard to stop reaching for more haha.

There's also peach jam on the plate, which was great for cleansing your palate between bites of bacon and cheese without getting tired of the flavors!!

A soft-boiled egg comes with it too — you can dip it in salt on its own or put it on the bread, so you can go with whatever you prefer haha.
Americano with a choice of beans: the nutty option
Notten's Americano lets you choose between an acidic bean, a nutty bean, or decaf. On this visit, we went with the nutty bean, Pastel Coffee Works' Black Sugar.
Americano (Nutty)
One thing I really liked about Notten was being able to pick coffee beans to match your taste. There's an acidic bean, a nutty bean, and even a decaf option. We went with the nutty bean this time — Pastel Coffee Works' Black Sugar — described as having notes of dried plum, cacao, and sugar!!

We had it as an iced Americano, and since it wasn't a strongly acidic style, it paired really well with the brunch we ordered. Since you can pick your beans by preference, if you're a coffee lover, it's worth reading the bean descriptions and choosing the style you want!!
Is Notten worth a visit in Anyang?
Overall, Notten was a place where you could enjoy house-made brunch and specialty coffee in a warm, relaxed atmosphere. The Wheat Bread Plate & Pork Neck Bacon had a great combination of plain bread and salty bacon, and the iced Americano with the nutty bean pairing suited the brunch well too haha. If you're looking for good brunch on the Dongpyeon-maeul café street, or just want a relaxed meal in a nice-vibe café, I'd recommend enjoying good brunch and coffee together at Notten.
