Uijeongbu café near Costco with lodge-style room seats: Forerest
In short
Forerest is a large forest-view café at 181 Nogyang-ro in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi, built like a mountain lodge among the trees. After shopping at Costco Uijeongbu, the writer stopped by with her mom, took an inner room with an outdoor view, and ordered chocolate and black sesame Basque cheesecakes with two iced café lattes. The cheesecake at Forerest was dense without being heavy — enough to win over a mom who normally dislikes cheesecake — and while you need a car to drive up, the wide parking makes it easy for families and dates alike.

What the Forerest building looks like from outside

A café tucked inside a forest.
What are the seats inside Forerest like?

A Uijeongbu café that's literally 'for a rest.'

The main space with the order counter. The terrace seats here in particular are great for enjoying the green, green outdoor view, so it's the central spot where a lot of people set up.

There are also several room-style spaces inside the café. High chairs are provided too, so it's a fine café to visit with kids — on the day I went, there was even a family gathering with a baby.

Another room. This one felt cozier compared to the other rooms.
Forerest's menu: Basque cheesecake is the signature

The menu. The signature item is Basque cheesecake — this café focuses on a variety of cheesecakes.

Forerest is such a spacious Uijeongbu café. If you visit, there are so many seating options that everyone will probably struggle to pick a spot.

I also debated where to sit, and ended up in one of the inner rooms with an outdoor view.
Chocolate and black sesame Basque cheesecake with iced lattes

[ ORDER ] Iced latte x2 / chocolate Basque cheesecake / black sesame Basque cheesecake

Among the menu, the Basque cheesecake stood out for its richness — rich, but not heavy on the palate. The chocolate Basque cheesecake had a stronger chocolate flavor than cheese flavor, since the chocolate itself is quite sweet. It was sweet and delicious, and 🍰 my mom, who came with me, said, "I don't usually like cheesecake, but this one's good." 😄

The black sesame Basque cheesecake balanced black sesame and cheese flavors evenly — neither one overpowering, just a perfect half-and-half combination of black sesame and cheese. I love black sesame, so I enjoyed this one a lot too.

The iced café latte felt generous with the amount of coffee even accounting for the ice — the latte had a clean flavor with a pleasant acidity from the beans. Since I'm a diehard café latte person, I asked for an extra pump of syrup when ordering, which made it even better.
Forerest's outdoor garden and forest views

To me, Forerest felt like a kind of mountain lodge café.

A café surrounded by an incredible, dense scale of trees and green, green leafy forest. 🌳

Visiting this place gave a strong sense of being inside a space that belongs entirely to Forerest, fenced in by its own little world.

There are also various tables outdoors, and some guests were clearly enjoying the special feeling of sitting outside.
Parking at Forerest and how to get there from Costco Uijeongbu

To get to Forerest in Uijeongbu, you have to drive up a long, winding road like this. I strongly recommend visiting by car.

Then you'll see a sign like this. You can park right around here,

and there's also plenty of parking below, spread across sections.
Is Forerest worth it as a large café in Uijeongbu?

The lush green view visible from every room is impressive, and Forerest is surrounded by forest, with a massive garden standout even outdoors. I think it's a good stop on a drive near Seoul, and worth recommending for a Uijeongbu date course too. Actually, on the day I visited, there were lots of guests — families, couples, friends. If you're looking for a large café around Uijeongbu, I recommend it, and it's especially great on a day with clean air and no fine dust. Perfect for healing while breathing in clear forest air 🍃. Since it's open long hours until midnight, it's also fine to visit late, and the forest view at night would probably feel completely different.
