📋 Menu board & kiosk ordering. Daedae Myeonok offers more than just naengmyeon — there's kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup), mandu jeongol, and galbijjim too. The owner has run the seasonal naengmyeon menu for a long time, and with mandu jeongol and galbijjim also on offer, there's fun in choosing! This time we went with the new menu item!^^

  • 🔸️ Ordered: spicy galbijjim
  • 🔸️ Spice tip: they said the default spice level is a bit hotter than Shin Ramyun, so we asked for it on 'less spicy'!

Free broth refills and the self-serve corner

🥣 Warm refill broth & a clean self-serve corner. There's a hot broth dispenser for refills and a tidy self-serve corner off to one side. If the basic side dishes run low, you can refill them freely at the self-serve bar, which is kept covered for hygiene — very satisfying.

Side dishes and the complimentary odeng tang

🥗 Neat, tidy side dish setup. Crunchy kimchi and tidy side dishes come out with the meal. The sides aren't overdone — just clean and simple, pairing perfectly with the galbijjim. And the complimentary odeng tang (fish cake soup) that comes alongside is 👍 👍

The galbijjim comes out nearly fully cooked. You just need to heat it while the glass noodles soak up the sauce!!

🔥 Daedae Myeonok has an induction burner neatly built into the table, so you can keep the food warm right to the end! We simmered the spicy galbijjim on low heat until it bubbled^^

  • ✅️ Generous portions of tender pork cut into bite-size pieces, plus sweet pumpkin, shiitake mushrooms, potato, scallion, and glass noodles
  • A pleasantly spicy level, about like Shin Ramyun — the kind of heat you don't get tired of 🤤
  • 🔺️ If you prefer a sweeter galbijjim, I'd recommend the sweet soy-sauce original galbijjim~~^^
Spicy galbijjim and glass noodles simmering on the induction burner

🥩 Tender lean meat soaked in sauce, with chewy glass noodles. Leave the induction on and the longer it simmers, the more the sauce soaks into the meat and other ingredients. The lean meat is wonderfully tender with no dryness, great to chew, and pairs beautifully with the vegetables and glass noodles you fish out. Add rice to the spicy galbijjim sauce and it's a proper rice thief! 👍

Receipt review gift and the free ice cream and coffee corner

🎁 Naver receipt review event (mini kodari hoe-muchim gift). There's a receipt review event at every table! Ask staff for your receipt after paying, leave a Naver receipt review (5 stars + a photo), and 🎈 you'll get a mini kodari hoe-muchim (spicy dried pollock salad) on the house — definitely worth doing!

Brewed coffee machine and snack jelly for sale

🍨 Sweet ice cream, brewed coffee & snack jelly for sale. On your way out after the meal, there's a well-stocked free dessert corner to soothe your spice-hit mouth. Nostalgic soft-serve cone ice cream and a warm brewed coffee machine are both there. They also sell snack jelly (₩5,000) for a little something to finish with!! (Kids won't be able to walk past that~!? haha) Being able to finish with dessert like this really rounded out the meal.

Verdict on spicy galbijjim at Daedae Myeonok

  • Taste: spice level adjustable down to about Shin Ramyun mild, making this a Uijeongbu galbijjim spot everyone can enjoy!
  • Convenience: spacious parking, induction tables, self-serve corner, and dessert all covered — a great pick for a Uijeongbu meetup!
  • Will I return: next time I plan to come back for the mandu jeongol with its rich hwangtae (dried pollock) broth.

If you want a full course of good food and dessert in Uijeongbu's Gosan-dong, I recommend Daedae Myeonok!
