I wanted something hearty and Korean for weekend lunch, so I headed to Ok Doenjang Suwon Hommaesil Branch 😊 It's a hot pot place, but solo dining is totally fine, so come alone without worry 😉

The building's own lot is narrow, so I'd recommend setting your navigation to Delight Tower 2 instead! The restaurant's entrance is right on the main road on the 1st floor, so it was easy to find 😊

The interior is quite spacious with a warm, cozy vibe that I really liked. There were a lot of older guests too, and I got the sense this is a great spot for family meals ☺️

Ok Doenjang's specialty Mom's Gim (seasoned seaweed)! I remembered visiting a different branch of Ok Doenjang before — the mains were amazing, but I kept refilling on the Mom's Gim because it was that good haha. It's also sold separately, so it's great to take home or give as a gift 😉

We ordered the 2-person feast set. For the choice option, we picked boiled pork salad! It was savory and tangy, so I kept reaching for it 🫶 It was packed with minari too, giving it such a fresh feel 🤓 The set menu was seriously generous and reasonably priced, so next time I want to try a different choice option 🔥
Assorted boiled pork hot pot with beef tendon, wood ear mushroom and minari
There's a 'how to enjoy it best' guide printed right on the table for the boiled pork hot pot! Following it, we boiled it up and dipped it in the sauce, and it was so delicious 😙 The hot pot had more than just boiled pork — beef tendon, wood ear mushroom, minari, and more, so it was fun to mix and match different combinations 😉 And since there were two induction burners at the 4-person table, having the pot right in front of us made it easy to serve ourselves ☺️

And the must-order at Ok Doenjang — squid minari pancake! It's seriously huge, crispy, and packed with a ton of squid 👍 Dipped in the accompanying sauce, which was slightly sweet, it paired perfectly 🫶
