Paju yang kkochi with thick skewers, tangsuyuk, fried rice

In short

Sannaemaeul Yang Kkochi & Qingdao is a lamb skewer and Chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor of World Tower 3 on Chaekhyanggi-ro in Paju, Gyeonggi. Crossing the bridge from Gimpo, the writer ordered yang kkochi (lamb skewers), tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), and fried rice, and finished off even the complimentary bean sprout stir-fry. A solid pick when you want thick lamb skewers and Chinese dishes together in one place.

Crossing the bridge from Gimpo to Paju to find a new lamb skewer spot

I love yang kkochi (lamb skewers) so much I eat it at least once a month. So besides my main go-to spot, I'm always on the hunt for another good one.

I usually search around Geomdan, Ilsan, and Paju since they're close to Gimpo, and while scrolling through Naver Maps I finally found it. Paju's Chinese restaurant, Sannaemaeul Yang Kkochi & Qingdao!

This place sells Chinese food alongside the lamb skewers I love, so I could enjoy both without having to visit two separate restaurants — so convenient. And the most important part, the taste, was great too, so I wanted to share it with you all in a review.

We mainly ordered lamb skewers, tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), and fried rice. (They also gave us a complimentary bean sprout stir-fry, which had a nice smoky flavor.) Everything we ordered was delicious, so overall it was a satisfying dinner. Hope you'll consider visiting too, and that this post is helpful. Let's start the review.

2nd floor location, window table atmosphere

Most lamb skewer restaurants are on the ground floor, but this Paju Chinese restaurant, Sannaemaeul Yang Kkochi & Qingdao, is on the 2nd floor. It was spacious and comfortable, and the window tables had such a good view that we happily grabbed a seat there.

Lamb skewers plus Chinese food, plenty of menu choices

Here's the menu at Paju's Chinese restaurant Sannaemaeul Yang Kkochi & Qingdao. It had everything you'd expect at a lamb skewer place, plus extra Chinese dishes, which meant a wider range of choices — nice.

Since I really love both lamb skewers and Chinese food, being able to enjoy both in one spot feels like a big advantage of Sannaemaeul Yang Kkochi & Qingdao haha. We decided to order tangsuyuk, fried rice, and lamb skewers.

Thick lamb skewers: texture and any gamey smell?

After we ordered, the side dishes came out, followed by the charcoal and the lamb skewers — and the size of the skewers was no joke haha. I've been to plenty of good lamb skewer places, but this is the first time I've seen skewers this thick, here at this Paju lamb skewer restaurant Sannaemaeul Yang Kkochi & Qingdao.

Alright! Let's grill them nice and golden over the charcoal and check with my own mouth whether the taste matches the size.

I tried the lamb skewers, cooked just right with the juices still intact. The meat was really tender with no gamey smell at all — this must be premium lamb. There's a reason this place is known as a top Paju lamb skewer restaurant.

I'm no food expert, but considering how picky my taste is, Paju lamb skewer restaurant Sannaemaeul Yang Kkochi & Qingdao gets a perfect 100 out of 100 from me.

Not guobaorou but tangsuyuk

Not guobaorou, but tangsuyuk!!! This Paju lamb skewer restaurant, Sannaemaeul Yang Kkochi & Qingdao, also sells tangsuyuk like you'd find at a Chinese restaurant — golden, crispy on the outside with thick, tender meat inside, so of course it was delicious.

Fried rice loaded with shrimp and veggies, mixed with jjajang

Fried rice made with no skimping on ingredients! (Loaded with shrimp and vegetables, with rice cooked just firm enough — exactly our style of fried rice.)

The rich fried rice was already tasty, but mixing in a bit of jjajang (black bean sauce) took it to another level. The portion was generous too, so both my partner and I, both fried rice lovers, had plenty to eat.

The complimentary bean sprout stir-fry at the end

Just as we were about to finish our meal, they gave us a complimentary bean sprout stir-fry. I was already full and almost left it, but one bite in, the rich smoky flavor won me over and I ended up eating it all haha.

This place really lives up to being both a top Paju lamb skewer restaurant and a top Paju Chinese restaurant. I'm glad I crossed the bridge from Gimpo to visit Sannaemaeul Yang Kkochi & Qingdao in Paju. Thanks for the meal.
