Haenggung-dong brunch room with a view in Suwon: Kueodeukkutteu
In short
Kueodeukkutteu is a two-story brick-house brunch restaurant on the main street of Haenggung-dong in Suwon. Over lunch with her mom, the writer took a second-floor room with a wide-open view and ordered manjo risotto, carrot and duck aglio olio, homemade grapefruit ade, and perilla oil ice cream. Ordering by table QR code and paying on the way out was easy, and the ice cream came out separately after the meal so it never had time to melt.

Kueodeukkutteu 💗 — I went here with my mom during our Haenggung-dong date. The brunch menu looked varied and the vibe looked great, so we tried it, and honestly it delivered on both taste and view, haha!

Kueodeukkutteu is open daily from 11:30 to 20:30, with last order at 19:30. There's no dedicated parking lot, so you'll want to use a nearby public parking lot, but it's easy to get to since it sits right on the main street of Haenggung-dong, Suwon.

A two-story brick house with outdoor tables, and dogs are welcome

Kueodeukkutteu is a pretty two-story brick house building ~!

There's a terrace on the first floor too, so you'll see people with strollers and babies eating out there, haha. Dogs are welcome, so it seemed like a great spot to bring your pup along!!

There's seating inside on both the first and second floors, and each table has a different mood and view, so I'd say look around and pick the one you like ~~

I went up to the second floor, where there's side-by-side seating for a cozy meal together,
and there are outdoor tables too — perfect for this kind of weather, right?!!
What is the view from Kueodeukkutteu's second-floor room like?

I sat in the second-floor room, and I loved how open the view felt, haha. The weather happened to be perfect too, so it really felt like a date~! I went with my mom, but this place would also be great for a date with a boyfriend, or for chatting over good brunch with friends.

No need to go downstairs to order — you just scan the QR code on the table and pay on your way out. Super convenient, 👍
What's on the Kueodeukkutteu menu?

It has a brunch café feel, with everything from full-meal dishes to lighter bites. And I liked that the ingredients — green peas, duck, carrot — felt healthy :)

Since we came for lunch, we ordered carrot + duck aglio olio and manjo risotto as our mains, plus a homemade grapefruit ade and perilla oil ice cream. Even though we ordered it all at once, they thoughtfully brought the ice cream out after the meal so it didn't melt — nice touch!!

The grapefruit ade was refreshing and paired really well with the food 🍊

Our food came out quickly, and the presentation was insane... the smell was amazing too, instant pass~!~!
How the manjo risotto tastes

This is the manjo risotto, made with flap meat, smoked green peas, barley, and oats — healthy and delicious at the same time!!

With barley and oats, the grains kept their bite, so the texture was great, and the flap meat wasn't chewy and had no meaty smell, which I liked, haha. The seasoning was spot on, and there seemed to be a drizzle of truffle oil on top,, the aroma was lovely too
Carrot + duck aglio olio at Kueodeukkutteu
This is the carrot + duck aglio olio! The name honestly tells you exactly what's in it, which made choosing easy lol
Instead of regular smoked duck, it had thick chunks of duck meat, piled high with carrots — the two went together really well. The carrot cut right through the duck's richness

The aglio olio was seasoned just right and the noodles were cooked well, so it was delicious 👍
Perilla oil ice cream: worth asking them to skip the salt

After finishing the meal, I called a staff member via QR — pressed 'ice cream please' and they brought it right over, haha. It's vanilla ice cream piled with perilla oil and perilla seeds
It felt light after a meal, and the perilla oil and seed combo was nutty and really nice, but there was salt sprinkled on it, which made it a bit too salty for my taste — that part didn't quite work for me?! If you're the type who doesn't like a salty note in your ice cream, I'd suggest asking them to skip the salt — it'll taste even better that way, haha
Kueodeukkutteu sits right on the main street of Haenggung-dong in Suwon, so it's easy to get to, and the atmosphere is lovely! The menu is great for a date too, so if you're planning a Haenggung-dong date course, give it a visit 💗
