Yongin kalguksu restaurant: 2 noodles, 1 fried rice for 3, Jangwongap
In short
Jangwongap Kalguksu Yongin Giheung Branch is a shabu-kalguksu (hot-pot knife-cut noodle) restaurant on Gomae-ro in Giheung-gu, Yongin, Gyeonggi. Three diners ordered two servings of chadol-minari wrap kalguksu (beef brisket with water dropwort) with extra sirloin and a whole-shrimp seafood pancake, then split just one serving of the free perilla-oil kkakdugi fried rice. With sides on the table, two servings of kalguksu plus one fried rice turned out to be exactly right for three people.

I was looking for somewhere to have dinner with family in Giheung, Yongin, and ended up at Jangwongap Kalguksu Yongin Giheung Branch.
We only meant to have shabu-shabu that day, but ended up adding sirloin to the chadolbagi-minari wrap kalguksu (brisket and water dropwort wrapped noodle soup) and properly working through a whole-shrimp seafood pancake too.

The three of us actually ordered 2 servings of chadolbagi-minari wrap kalguksu + added sirloin + whole-shrimp seafood pancake. After finishing the shabu-shabu and noodles, we also went for the free 100% perilla-oil kkakdugi (radish kimchi) fried rice, then rounded things off properly with misugaru (roasted grain powder) slush, ppeongtwigi, and coffee for dessert.

This isn't just a kalguksu specialty spot — it's more fun than that, working through meat, minari, kalguksu, seafood pancake, fried rice, and dessert in sequence.
The 3-person order at Jangwongap Kalguksu Yongin Giheung at a glance

If you're visiting with three people and wondering how to order, I'd save this combo and follow it. We only ordered 2 servings of kalguksu since we planned to eat plenty of sides too, and as a result we ended up really, really full.

Looking for a restaurant near Lotte Outlet Yongin Giheung: first impressions
Jangwongap Kalguksu Yongin Giheung Branch was packed with people from the moment we walked in. Every table was busy and the staff were constantly on the move — a totally different vibe from a quiet restaurant. But honestly, I liked that energy.
Even while rushed off their feet, the staff were quite kind. So if you're looking for somewhere to comfortably eat with family or friends while searching for a Gomae-dong restaurant in Yongin, this would suit you well. Especially if you're looking for a restaurant near Lotte Outlet Yongin Giheung, this is a good one to check out before or after shopping.

Chadol-minari wrap kalguksu: the beef brisket comes first
Jangwongap's chadolbagi-minari wrap kalguksu isn't served like typical kalguksu where you put the noodles in right away.

First you cook the chadolbagi (thinly sliced beef brisket) and eat it with minari (water dropwort). The brisket is savory and tender, the minari is fragrant, and together they made a really good pairing.

Eating just meat can get a bit greasy, but the minari makes it much fresher. Dipped in wasabi soy sauce, the umami was insane.

Since we love meat, we added sirloin too. After the brisket and sirloin, we were already pretty full before even touching the noodles — properly loaded up on protein.
Dipped in the sesame oil sauce, it was a whole different experience, so we got to enjoy the same ingredients in different combinations — a pretty fun rediscovery.
How long you cook the kalguksu noodles changes the texture
Once we'd eaten enough meat, it was time for the kalguksu — and here's another fun part of Jangwongap. The texture changes depending on how long you boil the noodles.
At first you feel the chewiness against your teeth, and as time passes it gradually shifts from springy and bouncy to soft and moist, soaked with broth — it was interesting watching it change.
If noodle texture matters to you, don't cook it all at once — add it little by little and really savor the differences in texture as you go.

Whole-shrimp seafood pancake: packed with squid
Among everything we ordered that day, one dish I really want to recommend is the whole-shrimp seafood pancake. I initially figured it would just be a seafood pancake with some whole shrimp in it, as the name suggests, but when it arrived, the seafood was seriously generous.
What really stood out to me while eating it was just how much squid was packed in.

You could see the whole shrimp, but squid was tucked in everywhere too, so every bite had a solid seafood chew.

The pancake itself felt packed with no gaps, so it was great to alternate with between bites of kalguksu.
We were already pretty full from the brisket and sirloin, but this still kept pulling us back in. If three of you are visiting, splitting a chadolbagi-minari wrap kalguksu + whole-shrimp seafood pancake combo would work well too.
Free perilla-oil kkakdugi fried rice: one serving split three ways
By this point we were honestly already stuffed. But Jangwongap Kalguksu has the perk of offering free 100% perilla-oil kkakdugi fried rice after you finish the kalguksu — and it felt like a shame to just skip it.
Since we were so full, we asked for just one serving to split between the three of us. In the end, that turned out to be exactly right.

The kkakdugi gives it a crunchy texture, and the nutty aroma of the perilla oil adds something, so it wrapped up the meal in a completely different feel from the kalguksu we'd just had.
If you're a group ordering plenty of side dishes too, I'd recommend not forcing yourselves to order one fried rice per person — check how full you are and share a single serving instead. The three of us split one serving and still ended the meal completely stuffed.
Dessert: misugaru slush and puffed rice crisps
After the fried rice I thought we were really done, but then there's misugaru slush and ppeongtwigi to enjoy. The misugaru slush was cool and nutty-tasting, which was great after such a heavy meal.
After the meat, kalguksu, seafood pancake, and fried rice, we were genuinely full, but dessert felt like a separate category entirely. Finishing with that cool misugaru slush made the meal feel properly complete.
Who this Gomae-dong restaurant in Yongin suits best
Based on my own experience, here's who I think this place suits well.
- People who like sharing dishes when eating in a group — instead of just having chadolbagi-minari wrap kalguksu alone, ordering sirloin or the seafood pancake alongside lets you try several things.
- People who want to eat kalguksu and meat together — eating chadolbagi and minari first, then moving into the noodles, lets you enjoy both meat and noodles in one meal.
- People who like a lively, bustling restaurant atmosphere — when we visited there were plenty of customers and the place was full of energy.
- People looking for somewhere to eat while shopping at Lotte Outlet — if you're searching for a Lotte Outlet Yongin Giheung restaurant before or after shopping, this is worth checking out.

Jangwongap Kalguksu Yongin Giheung: the verdict from this visit
What stuck with me most from this visit wasn't just the taste of the kalguksu alone. Eating chadolbagi and minari first → adding more meat → changing up the noodle texture as we went → pairing it with a whole-shrimp seafood pancake loaded with squid → finishing with the free perilla-oil kkakdugi fried rice → misugaru slush and ppeongtwigi. The whole flow of the meal itself was just fun.
Above all, the crowd made it lively and the staff were kind, so the dining atmosphere was great. The three of us were so full that we only had one serving of fried rice between us, and it was still plenty. With dessert on top, it was a genuinely satisfying meal.
So if you're searching for a Lotte Outlet Yongin Giheung restaurant and kalguksu catches your eye, I'd suggest not deciding based on a single dish — try the combo of chadolbagi-minari wrap kalguksu with the seafood pancake as a reference. And if you're looking for a Gomae-dong restaurant in Yongin, save this post and follow the exact 3-person order combo we had that day when you visit.
