Suwon pizza restaurant with forest views and hot pepperoni: Low Five

In short

Low Five is a pizza and pasta restaurant in Haenggung-dong, Suwon, Gyeonggi. In a space that feels like a pension in the woods, the writer had the Hot Pot Pescatore Pasta (₩21,000) and the Hot Pepperoni Pizza (₩25,000), dipping crispy baguette into the piping-hot pescatore. The green views and spicy dishes made Low Five a great date meal.

Introduction photo of a visit to Low Five in Haenggung-dong

The weather lately is totally perfect. Just the right amount of sun, just the right amount of breeze, and it felt like a waste to stay cooped up at home, so I went out for a tasty lunch in Haenggung-dong. I visited Low Five (로우파이브), a great-vibes spot with delicious pizza and pasta.

Low Five hours, info and parking

Hours are 11:20–21:00, break time is 15:00–16:50, and last order is at 19:30. They're closed every Tuesday. There's no parking, so I parked at the Jangan-dong public parking lot and walked about 10 minutes. With the weather this nice, the streets of Haenggung-dong were lovely to walk through.

Takeout and group seating are available, and they accept local currency and the high fuel price relief payments.

Low Five, hidden in a green forest

Low Five was hard to spot at a glance. It's hidden in a green forest, haha. My first impression was of a pension (Korean holiday lodge) in the woods, and true to its status as a Haenggung-dong landmark, it was radiating an overwhelming atmosphere.

Low Five, looking like you'd have to push your way through the woods to get there.

Once you actually climb up, pretty spaces like this open up. Since there's often a wait, there's a kitschy table at the entrance and waiting seats are set up too.

The inside was this spacious too. High ceilings and a really stylish atmosphere. The muted wood tones created a mood brimming with vibes, and maybe because the staff are young, it had a kind of Gen-Z feel to it as well.

Menu and what we ordered

Low Five's menu. The signatures are pizza and pasta. Kimchi fried rice was a popular menu item too.

There's a self-service zone in the middle of the room, so you can help yourself to side plates, napkins, hot sauce and cheese powder to taste.

Pickled jalapeños came out as the basic table setting.

Orange juice and lemon ade

Fresh-squeezed orange juice and lemon ade

The cold drinks came out first. The orange juice turned out to be fresh-squeezed. No artificial sweetness, purely the sweetness of the orange itself, so it was totally fresh and zesty. It went down easy with that healthy taste, and the ade was moderately sweet, which was right up my alley.

Full spread of pizza, pasta and drinks

The food came out faster than expected too, and all at once, so I could get a group shot. A picture-perfect spread with visuals off the charts.

They told us to eat the baguette first because it can harden quickly, but I had a use in mind for it, so I left it alone for the moment, haha.

Hot Pot Pescatore Pasta

Hot Pot Pescatore Pasta loaded with seafood

Let's dig into the pescatore first, the one that had my mouth watering. If you love seafood, I highly recommend the pescatore. It's packed with so much fresh seafood. Mussels, venus clams, squid, shrimp. A seafood feast broke out 👏👏

The spice level was about medium, totally doable even if you can't handle heat, and the rich tomato umami was seriously deep and delicious. The pasta was cooked perfectly too. Maybe because the weather has turned cool, the pescatore pasta was an excellent choice.

Dip the baguette in the pescatore

And the use for the baguette: dipping, of course! Since the pescatore is piping hot, even a light dip of the crispy baguette makes for a treat in both texture and taste. Adding the baguette is a must.

Hot Pepperoni Pizza

Spicy Hot Pepperoni Pizza

Low Five's signature pizza is the half-and-half, but I was craving something spicy that day, so I went with the pepperoni, which is more my kind of thing. The pizza was piled with toppings and the quality was just perfect. Basically, Low Five's pizza is really delicious. The price is satisfying for the quality too, and the value is unreal 🤭

Pepperoni pizza topped with cheese and toppings

Look at this. A waterfall-level avalanche of cheese, toppings laid out without a gap, and even the crispy dough texture was perfect: a knockout pepperoni pizza. You have to try this combination. It was the ultimate pairing, somehow just right for the doorstep of autumn.

Low Five, where taste and style coexist in a quiet, secluded atmosphere that feels like a pension in the woods. It was great for a family meal too, but it's a must-eat course I'd really recommend as a date spot. Infinite recommendations 🫰
