In short

Dwaeji Gongbang Bucheon Okgil-dong Main Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant in Okgil-dong, Bucheon, Gyeonggi. We enjoyed charcoal-grilled pork cuts with helpful guidance on grilling order and pairings, plus coloring sheets for our child. Dwaeji Gongbang was an easy, satisfying family meal.

While looking for somewhere to eat meat in Okgil-dong, we visited Dwaeji Gongbang Bucheon Okgil-dong Main Branch (돼지공방 부천옥길동본점) this time.

Visit to Dwaeji Gongbang Bucheon Okgil-dong

It had looked more atmospheric than an ordinary samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly) place even in photos, so I was curious. In person, the food was delicious, and above all, the staff were so kind that it really stayed with me. For me, food matters at a restaurant, but good service definitely makes me want to return—and I was very satisfied on that front here. If you are looking for samgyeopsal in Okgil-dong, I think it is worth a visit.

Dwaeji Gongbang in Okgil-dong: atmosphere and service

When we arrived, the sign had a slight old-school barbecue-restaurant feel, while the inside was neatly decorated. We visited in the evening, and the warm lighting made for a nice atmosphere; it also looked good for a family meal. As we ate, I noticed customers chatting very naturally with the staff, so I got the feeling there were quite a few regulars.

The staff kindly explained everything to us as first-time visitors, so we could eat comfortably. The interior was spacious and clean too!!

It had a pojangmacha (street food tent) kind of atmosphere!!

There is a self-service bar too, so it is easy to eat comfortably. But the staff also kept asking whether we needed anything 👍👍 In particular, they did not just bring out the meat and leave—they explained in detail which cut to grill first and even the grilling order.

A delicious order for trying several pork cuts

When there are several types of meat, deciding what to eat first can be surprisingly tricky, so I liked that they told us the order too.

Looking at the menu in the photo, there were many cuts available, including thick pork neck, rib meat, chewy pork, and pork jowl. It seemed great for people who normally eat only pork belly or pork neck but want to try a variety of cuts. We tried a set with several cuts, and the meat looked fresh and was nicely thick.

Once the meat went onto the charcoal and began to cook, the aroma was already amazing. Charcoal-grilled pork has that distinctive scent, and the meat's own juices along with the charcoal aroma made it delicious.

A little rice on lettuce with a well-grilled piece of meat was satisfying all on its own.

The baekgimchi (mild white kimchi) that we could grill alongside it was good too. It cut through the richness of the meat from time to time, so we did not get tired of eating, and it was a great pairing.

What I personally liked was that there was also guidance on how to use the sauces and side dishes. On a first visit, you might miss how to eat everything at its best, but these explanations made it fun to try different combinations.

Why it was comfortable to visit with a child

We found this place by searching for samgyeopsal in Okgil-dong, but I liked that it was not simply somewhere to eat meat and finish—you can enjoy a wide variety of cuts and accompaniments. And as someone visiting with a child, there was one thing I especially loved.

A staff member separately brought out coloring pages for our child. When you go to a barbecue restaurant with a child, there is waiting time while the meat cooks, so children can get bored. This small consideration was more appreciated than I expected. Our child happily colored away, and we were able to eat much more comfortably. Seeing that they even took care of this for families with children, I could understand why the restaurant seemed to have so many regulars.

The complimentary spicy soft tofu stew

Another thing I personally really liked at Dwaeji Gongbang was the soft tofu stew that came as a basic inclusion.

Complimentary spicy soft tofu stew

These days, many barbecue restaurants make you order stew separately, right? But here, spicy soft tofu stew was included. It arrived bubbling in an earthenware pot as in the photo, and I thought of it as just a basic service at first—but I was a little surprised when I tried it.

Honestly, it was delicious enough to be sold as a separate stew. It had a pleasant kick and a rich broth, making it perfect to spoon up between bites of meat, and it naturally made me want rice. A piece of meat followed by a bite of hot soft tofu stew was such a great combination.

The menu also had separate meal options such as spicy soybean-paste soup with rice, perilla-oil buckwheat noodles, naengmyeon (cold noodles), and kimchi stew with plenty of meat, so next time I would like to try more after the meat. Since even the included soft tofu stew was this good, I became curious about the other meal dishes. The meat was delicious, but I especially like barbecue restaurants where even these basic menu items are done properly, so I was even more satisfied.

Parking in front and use of the parking tower

Parking was more convenient than I expected. If there is a space right in front of the restaurant, you can park there, and if not, there is a separate parking tower to use. When you are out with a child like us, inconvenient parking can make you hesitate to revisit even a delicious restaurant, so I liked that there was another parking option. Since the space in front is limited, if there is no spot when you visit, I think the easiest thing is to ask the staff about using the parking tower.

Overall, we enjoyed everything without any weak point, from the meat and included soft tofu stew to the side dishes.

Above all, the service from the staff was truly memorable: they kindly explained even the grilling order and provided coloring pages for our child. There are many delicious barbecue restaurants, but places that make you feel good through these little details naturally stay in your memory for a long time.

The atmosphere was nice, making it a good choice for a family meal, and it also suited having drinks and meat with friends. Beyond pork belly and pork neck, you can choose various cuts such as chewy pork, rib meat, and pork jowl, so I would recommend it to pork lovers too. We had a comfortable meal with our child and were happy with the taste, so it is somewhere I would like to return to when I crave meat in Okgil-dong.
