Bucheon Korean restaurant for seolleongtang and galbi mandu: Hanchon

In short

Hanchon Seolleongtang Bucheon Kkachiul Station Branch is a Korean restaurant near Kkachiul Station in Bucheon, Gyeonggi. My husband and I had seolleongtang with galbi mandu for 11,000 won and 9,000 won, and the clean broth paired beautifully with the meaty dumplings. Verdict: a comforting, filling meal that is not overly seasoned.

A hot, hearty bowl of broth

No matter the weather, there are days when you crave a hot~ 🔥, filling bowl of broth, right?~ This time, my husband and I went to Hanchon Seolleongtang Bucheon Kkachiul Station Branch (한촌설렁탕 부천까치울역점) for seolleongtang, a Korean ox-bone soup. The broth was clean yet satisfying, making it just right for a full meal—so if you are craving a warm soup for a hangover or a nourishing pick-me-up, here is a Kkachiul Station spot I recommend :)

Once inside, I found a range of seating options, from private spaces where you can eat a little more comfortably to open tables for larger groups. It felt fine for a simple meal alone, but also comfortable for visiting with family or friends. They even have high chairs for guests with children, so it looked like a nice place for a family meal too.

Large galbi mandu: ₩9,000

And the dish my husband insisted we try that day was the galbi mandu—dumplings filled with short-rib meat. 🥟 Honestly, I came for the seolleongtang, so dumplings were not even on my mind, but one bite completely changed my mind!?

They were generously filled, and the more I chewed, the more short-rib flavor came through, so they made a great pairing with the seolleongtang. Once I tasted them, I immediately understood why my husband had recommended them so enthusiastically. . ! If you love dumplings, I would recommend ordering the galbi mandu alongside your seolleongtang.

Kimchi and kkakdugi served with seolleongtang
Cutting kimchi and kkakdugi into bite-size pieces

Cut the kimchi and kkakdugi to your liking

The kimchi and kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi), which are essential at a seolleongtang restaurant, could be cut into whatever bite size you prefer. With a lightly flavored broth dish like seolleongtang, I think eating it with kimchi and kkakdugi refreshes your palate between bites and makes it taste even better.

Choose your own order for eating the rice and beef

Seolleongtang: ₩11,000

At Hanchon Seolleongtang, you can also order your rice separately, which was great for someone like me who prefers to have the broth and beef first, then eat the rice later!! Being able to choose little details like this when ordering makes it an easy Kkachiul Station restaurant to enjoy in your own way.

Standard seolleongtang served with rice

The standard seolleongtang comes with rice

With the standard seolleongtang, the rice comes in the broth, and it was delicious with the tender rice and beef too, so you can enjoy it in different ways depending on how you eat it! If you are looking around Kkachiul Station for a hearty lunch or dinner, a bowl of seolleongtang like this would be a good option.

Tender beef in seolleongtang

Tender, delicious beef with no off smell

When I picked up a piece of beef, it was tender and soft, and easy to eat cleanly. It was delicious placed over rice, or scooped up with the broth too!

Seolleongtang that is delicious down to the noodles and rice

I slurped up the somyeon (thin wheat noodles) with the broth, had a piece of beef, then added rice too—it was truly filling. You can bring salt from the self-serve bar to adjust the seasoning to your taste, so try the broth as it comes first, then add a little salt at a time if you like :)

A seolleongtang meal finished down to the broth

Hanchon Seolleongtang = a bowl finished to the last drop

Finishing the bowl means ,, it was delicious. Seeing him thoroughly enjoy everything from the beef and noodles to the rice, then nearly finish all the broth, made me feel pleased too. It is a filling meal without being overly seasoned, so I think it works well for both lunch and dinner. If you are looking near Kkachiul Station for something everyone can comfortably eat, seolleongtang really seems like a low-risk choice!

Membership discounts and Chuseok gift sets

I heard Hanchon has launched a new membership, with a ₩3,000 discount when you sign up. If you visit Hanchon Seolleongtang often, it may be worth checking out those membership perks! The restaurant was also selling gift sets ahead of Chuseok. They looked like a nice holiday gift for family or acquaintances who enjoy seolleongtang or Hanchon's dishes.

I enjoyed the seolleongtang too, but the galbi mandu pairing my husband recommended was so much better than I expected that I think I would definitely order it again next time. 🤍 On a day when you are craving a warm, filling meal, stop by Hanchon Seolleongtang Bucheon Kkachiul Station Branch!
