Uijeongbu BBQ buffet with free Hangang ramen: Muhan Paldo Daepae

Hi everyone ^_^ After finishing up a trip to Gyeongju, I came back to Uijeongbu and headed straight to Muhan Paldo Daepae Uijeongbu Millak Branch, the best-value all-you-can-eat thin-sliced pork BBQ spot in Millak-dong. What better way to end a trip than with meat, right? haha

Where is Muhan Paldo Daepae Uijeongbu Millak Branch, and what are its hours and parking?

This Millak-dong favorite is located right next to Millak Radiant Castle! It's open 11:00–22:00, 365 days a year. If you sign up for Naver alerts, they give you a free side dish coupon — worth remembering.

The parking lot is pretty spacious too, room for about 5 cars. We drove there and had no trouble at all!

Heotgae (hovenia) tea and coffee while you wait and after the meal

There was hot hoddeokcha (hawthorn tea) and coffee set up for people waiting or finishing their meal. The weather's getting chillier lately, and one cup of this tea really melts the fatigue away. After eating, I used the hot hoddeokcha to wash down all that pork belly fat floating around in my stomach.

How much is the all-you-can-eat BBQ, and how long do you get?

Paldo Daepae, this Uijeongbu Millak-dong favorite, is the grill chain with Park Hwi-soon, Oh Jung-tae and Oh Ji-heon as their exclusive models. Since it's an all-you-can-eat thin-sliced pork place, it's ₩18,900 per person (ages 4-7: ₩8,900, ages 8-10: ₩10,900), soju/beer ₩3,000, unlimited soju ₩5,900. Weekdays get you 2 hours, weekends and holidays 100 minutes, haha

Why Muhan Paldo Daepae works with kids: playroom and baby chairs

This Uijeongbu Millak-dong spot has a spacious layout, making it good for work dinners or group gatherings too. It's kid-friendly enough to have an actual playroom (kids zone), so it's a great grill restaurant to bring children to. Baby chairs were, of course, on hand as well.

The self-serve bar: 8 sauces and the cuts of meat on offer

Meat, vegetables, side dishes — everything is self-serve, help yourself. Since it's self-serve all-you-can-eat, you can pile your plate high without feeling self-conscious, which I loved. There were a whopping 8 sauces too, each with its own regional flavor — I think that's where the name 'Paldo' (eight provinces) comes from.

There was a good variety of meat cuts too — my favorites were the classic thin-sliced pork belly and pork neck, while my friend said the thin-sliced beef brisket was the best.

Tteokbokki, slushies and dinner rolls at the side bar

There was even tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and slush drinks that kids would love! Since I'm still a kid at heart (lol?), I helped myself to a glass. There were also dinner rolls you could toast, and apparently the idea is to grill some meat and make a burger with the rolls. Now that's... a genius move. But I'm a weak little thing, so I was too full to try it.

Free unlimited Hangang ramen at the ramen machine

At this Uijeongbu Millak-dong favorite, you can also eat free unlimited Hangang ramen. Even at other all-you-can-eat spots, this kind of thing is usually a paid side item, but at Muhan Paldo Daepae you'll rarely go over about ₩20,000 per person no matter what. You cook the Hangang ramen yourself! There were tons of varieties, though since I like eating stir-fried noodles with thin-sliced pork belly, I wished they had buldak bokkeummyeon (spicy fried chicken noodles) or jjapaguri (black bean noodles).

Such an abundant spread!!! I was curious about all the sauces so I brought a bit of each kind haha... Maybe because I'm from the Seoul/Gyeonggi area, but the signature soy sauce was definitely my favorite. Adding thinly sliced cheongyang chili to the signature soy sauce is the best! And a light drizzle on grilled mushrooms is amazing too.

How to grill thin-sliced pork belly (daepae samgyeopsal)

A lot of people pile a ton of thin-sliced pork belly on the grill all at once, but I don't like that because the meat gets tough. I grilled small portions at a time, eating and grilling as I went. And I tried a little of every kind of meat first before sticking with my favorite.

Doenjang jjigae for 3,000 won and fried rice to finish

The doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) is a separate order for ₩3,000! Since rice is free, we scooped up a bowl and devoured it with the stew, no problem.

We used the leftover meat and ingredients in the grill oil to make fried rice — and it turned out really well made!!! It came out so light and fluffy and delicious that we kept eating even though we were already full. Two of us ate until we were completely stuffed for under ₩20,000 per person. Amazing value, amazing value~~
