Uijeongbu Station food, Uijeongbu date spot, Uijeongbu beef BBQ.

Beef BBQ table spread at Supsok Oki Jip near Uijeongbu Station

Hi everyone! It's Sol~ I went out for beef BBQ on a date in Uijeongbu recently, and the place turned out to have a better atmosphere and menu lineup than I expected, so I wanted to introduce it!

Where is Supsok Oki Jip and when is it open?

Supsok Oki Jip Uijeongbu Station Main Branch is located on the 1st and 2nd floors at 20 Sinheung-ro 258beon-gil, Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. It's open daily from 16:00 to 23:30, with last order at 22:30.

What is the dining room like? Dim lighting at this beef BBQ house

The moment I walked into Supsok Oki Jip, what struck me was that the lighting throughout was a bit dim! Rather than feeling like a bright, bustling BBQ restaurant, the soft lighting gave it a surprisingly nice atmosphere haha. That actually made me think it'd be great for a date.

The spacing between tables and the layout felt good too, so it seemed like a solid choice not just for couples but for friend gatherings or work dinners as well. It also seemed like a good pick if you're looking for somewhere to eat that's not too heavy an atmosphere, like for a blind date!

And they mentioned the 2nd floor can be reserved, which seemed useful for group gatherings or company dinners where several people come together. Considering the overall vibe, this felt less like just a place to eat meat and more like a versatile Uijeongbu Station restaurant that works for both dates and group meals!

Side dishes, sauces and the soup served before the meat

The tableware came neatly wrapped, and each seat was already set up in advance, so there was no need to ask for utensils one by one — convenient! Once we sat down, they brought out the banchan (side dishes) one at a time, and there were more varieties than I expected, which was nice.

In particular, there were several types of dipping sauces for the meat, so it was fun picking based on preference. Even with the same beef, the flavor changes a bit depending on which sauce you pair it with, so I ended up trying a little of everything!

Various dipping sauces for the meat

They also served a soup before the meal, and having a warm spoonful before the meat was really nice~ Most BBQ places just bring out the usual basic side dishes to go with the meat, but here they had sauces and soup ready from before the meal even started, so it felt like they put in a bit more effort overall!

The 10,000 won add-on set: curry rice and gopchang hot pot

What I found interesting here was the set menu setup. For just ₩10,000 more, you get curry with rice plus a gopchang (beef intestine) hot pot, and the combination works surprisingly well — and above all, it really fills you up hahaha.

The gopchang hot pot in particular seemed a bit unexpected at first, but once I tried it, it fit right in! I was especially surprised at how much gopchang was actually in there. I figured I'd eat it lightly as a side after the meat, but since there was so much gopchang, eating that too filled me up pretty fast haha. Yay~

The curry and rice were also good to have alongside the meat when you're craving rice, and if you're someone who feels a little unsatisfied eating just meat, I'd definitely recommend ordering the set!

Oh, and the curry had big chunks of beef in it too, so picking through it was pretty fun haha.

Diced short ribs and emperor rib finger: four servings between two

Now let's get to the star of the show — the beef! We ordered diced short ribs and gochu galbi (premium rib), 2 servings each, for 4 servings total. Yes, it really was just the two of us~

Two servings each of two beef cuts ordered

First, the diced short ribs came pre-trimmed into bite-sized pieces, so it was convenient that there was almost no need to cut anything after grilling. Cutting the meat yourself at a BBQ place is always a bit of a hassle, but since it was already prepped into good sizes, we could just grill and eat right away!

Beef can get tough if grilled too long, so we cooked it just enough — and it was juicy and delicious!

Of course you have to dip it generously in the sauce and salt they served, right? The tangy-sweet flavor really cut through any richness that could get overwhelming!

And what I especially enjoyed was the gochu galbi! The meat was very tender, so the texture was great. There was no toughness when chewing — it went down smoothly, which I personally loved!

And the subtle garlic aroma was really lovely. The garlic scent paired well with the meat, so it was delicious to eat and appreciate the flavor of the meat itself rather than just dipping it in sauce! If you love beef, I'd recommend trying this cut at least once~

How did Supsok Oki Jip work as a date spot in Uijeongbu?

Overall, with the side dishes, sauces, pre-meal soup, and side menu on top of the meat itself, there was so much to enjoy that the meal never felt boring! The dim, calm atmosphere made it easy to chat while eating too, and I think it'd suit anyone looking for a date spot in Uijeongbu haha.

If you're looking for a restaurant near Uijeongbu Station that has the atmosphere down along with the food, I think it's worth a visit. Next time, I'd order the gochu galbi again and try some of the other beef menu items too! If you're someone who wants to enjoy the meat alongside all the sides, stop by Supsok Oki Jip as your go-to Uijeongbu beef BBQ spot!
