Yangjae Katsu pork cutlet visit image

Today I went to Yangjae Katsu, one of my absolute favorite pork cutlet places! I seriously love pork cutlets and have gone around trying them everywhere.... This place is truly in my top five! The best in Yangjae 👍 Even after coming back for the first time in ages, it still had exactly the flavor I remembered from my first visit, which made it even more moving 💛💛💛

Yangjae Katsu visit information and parking

Yangjae Katsu is at 56 Nonhyeon-ro 31-gil, Seocho-gu, Seoul. It is open daily from 11:00 to 21:00, with last orders at 20:30. Takeout and delivery are available, and the restroom is in the external building. You can also make a Naver reservation.

❌ No parking lot ❌ You will need to park on a side street or use a nearby public parking lot. It is not right by Yangjae Station either—you need to walk about 10 minutes from Exit 8~ But for a great pork cutlet place, that is totally fine, right? Hahaha

An evening visit was better than lunch

I have always visited Yangjae Katsu in the evening~ At lunchtime, there are so many office workers that it is really not easy to time your visit!!! In the evening, though, it is still better than lunch haha

The restaurant is not very large, but it is neatly organized and has quite a lot of tables for its size! You can eat alone, and there are tables for two and four, so it is great for everything from a solo meal to a date~

Ordering hire katsu, cheese katsu, and buckwheat soba

Yangjae Katsu has lots of menu choices. Personally, I love hire katsu (pork tenderloin cutlet), cheese katsu, and memil soba (buckwheat noodles). That is what I had again today! Plus an Asahi~ If you leave a Naver receipt review, you get curry or a drink, so definitely join in and enjoy the freebie 🩷

Because they start cooking after you order, you should allow a good 10–15 minutes of waiting time! Even if you wait a little, you need to have a properly made pork cutlet!!! If you are chatting away, it feels like it comes out in no time haha

The table was completely filled up with food~ Just looking at it, it gives off premium pork cutlet vibes, right?! Hire katsu is also Yangjae Katsu's popular menu item~ You absolutely have to try it, seriously!!!!

The Asahi and buckwheat soba came out right away too.

The buckwheat soba is so glossy and looks seriously delicious, right? It really is delicious!!!! The noodles are soft and pleasantly chewy too~

Pork cutlet and beer are a match made in heaven ❤️❤️❤️ Okay, now let me get into the details of eating it~

Pork cutlet and beer pairing

I am the type who eats the cabbage before starting on the pork cutlet~ The cabbage has a great texture, and the sauce is delicious too!!!!

Thick and tender hire katsu

The bright pink color you may see inside the meat is not undercooking; it is a normal pinking phenomenon caused by myoglobin in fresh meat~ That just means the meat is fresh!!!!

Hire is made with pork tenderloin, so the meat itself is very tender. It is seriously thick, and the breading is not too heavy, so I love that you can really taste the meat. If you like clean-tasting, tender pork cutlets, hire katsu is an absolute must!!!

How to enjoy pork cutlets deliciously

Here is how to enjoy pork cutlets deliciously at Yangjae Katsu~ You get pink salt, wasabi, and katsu sauce. Try it with wasabi, dip it in the pink salt, try wasabi plus pink salt, try it with the katsu sauce, then squeeze on some lemon juice too!!! Eat it this way and before you know it, it is all gone haha

The fried shrimp is really big, super crispy, and delicious too~

You cannot give up cheese katsu either, can you?? Try the hire katsu plus cheese katsu combination~ It is packed with cheese, so of course it is delicious haha

📢📢📢 If you need more rice, soup, or side dishes, refills are available, so just ask anytime~
