Jamsil Stadium food truck takeout: strawberry bingsu and cream shrimp

In short

Bingdongdaeng Premium Bingsu Café is a shaved-ice food truck at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Songpa, Seoul, parked next to the outfield 1st ticket booth. On this visit the writer skipped the game and only picked up takeout: Bingdongdaeng's strawberry bingsu (shaved ice dessert), a bacon corn mayo hot dog and Mexican chipotle fries from Ippeun Yeowoo Hot Dog, and cream shrimp from Station Nacho. With all three trucks lined up beside the ticket booth, browsing and packing a full spread took only minutes, no ticket needed.

Today I'm writing about all the delicious food I took out from the food trucks at Jamsil Baseball Stadium!

Food packed to take out from the Jamsil Stadium food trucks

This time I wasn't there to watch a baseball game — I just kept thinking about the food truck food at Jamsil Stadium, so I went in person to pack up a bunch of stuff.

Where are the Jamsil Stadium food trucks, and when do they open?

The Jamsil Stadium food trucks are parked together near the entrance, right next to the outfield's 1st ticket booth. They open on days when LG Twins and Doosan Bears have a home game, so I timed my visit for a game day. I visited three trucks this time: Bingdongdaeng Premium Bingsu Café, Ppeun Yeowoo Hot Dog (famous in Gyeongju), and Station Nacho, known for its cream shrimp at Jamsil Stadium.

Bingdongdaeng Premium Bingsu Café's strawberry bingsu

First up, Bingdongdaeng Premium Bingsu Café! They had all kinds of bingsu (shaved ice dessert), but I went with the strawberry bingsu.

The strawberry bingsu is milk-ice piled high with strawberries. They use frozen strawberries, but it was still tasty. Eating the soft milk ice together with the strawberries was sweet and cool — great as a dessert.

The packaging was neat and pretty too, with plenty of toppings, so it was easy to eat on the go.

Ippeun Yeowoo Hot Dog: bacon corn mayo hot dog and Mexican chipotle fries

Next, Ppeun Yeowoo Hot Dog! I'd been curious about this place for a while since it's famous in Gyeongju, so I came back again this time.

This time I ordered the bacon corn mayo hot dog and the Mexican chipotle fries.

Neatly packaged hot dog and fries

The packaging was so neat that it would be perfect to eat wherever I went. I get why people buy so much of this at the ballpark.

The sausage in the hot dog was plump and springy, so the bite was satisfying, and with bacon and corn mayo mixed in it had a salty, savory flavor. The toppings were pretty generous too, so just one was plenty as a snack.

The Mexican chipotle fries came piled high with sauce and toppings on top.

With that much sauce and topping, it tasted way richer than plain fries.

Station Nacho's cream shrimp, eaten with the nachos underneath

Last up, Station Nacho!

Exterior of the Station Nacho food truck

Station Nacho is known for its cream shrimp among all the food at Jamsil Stadium, so I packed up cream shrimp again this time.

The shrimp were plump and springy and the cream sauce was delicious — I kept thinking about it after I finished.

Nachos layered underneath the cream shrimp

I especially liked that the nachos layered underneath stayed crispy. Dipping the nachos in the cream shrimp sauce added a crunchy texture that went really well together.

They also sell gonsami (konjac samgyeop mul-naengmyeon, a cold noodle dish with konjac and pork belly) there, and that looked good too. If I visit again, I'd like to try switching to a different menu item.

Can you order takeout without a ticket to the game?

So this time I packed up food from three trucks again — Bingdongdaeng, Ppeun Yeowoo Hot Dog, and Station Nacho. Even without going to watch the actual baseball game, just picking up food from the trucks on a game day at Jamsil Stadium feels like a really good option.

Especially since all three trucks are clustered next to the ticket booth, it was easy to browse and pick out exactly what I wanted to take home. This was my record of revisiting the Jamsil Stadium food trucks and enjoying yet another delicious takeout haul :)
