Why we chose bossam near Seokchon Lake after a workout

Narae Jokbal Songpa Direct Branch is a jokbal (pig's trotters) and bossam (boiled pork wraps) specialty restaurant near Seokchon Lake and Songni-dan-gil. After work, my boyfriend and I headed toward Seokchon Lake for something good to eat! He said he was coming from a workout, so we went to Narae Jokbal to fill up on protein~~ Jokbal and bossam are the mains, but sundubu-jjigae (soft tofu stew), makguksu (buckwheat noodles), and even patbingsu (shaved ice dessert) all come with it — a genuinely great-value spot in Jamsil!!

The gabri bossam genuinely melted in my mouth. It has a totally different charm from the usual pork belly bossam, so I really recommend it!!

Narae Jokbal Songpa Direct Branch hours and 12,900-won lunch set

They're open every day from 11 AM to 2 AM with no break time, which is great. Since they run through lunch, the lunch set is sold for a strict three-hour window from 11 to 2, at 12,900 won, and the spread looks super generous. I wish they had one near my office,,.

What Narae Jokbal looks like inside: orange seats, no jokbal-joint feel

Narae Jokbal Songpa Direct Branch is on the first floor of a building on Baekjegobun-ro 45-gil, but from the outside it doesn't look like a jokbal or bossam place at all lol. It looks like somewhere you'd get pizza or pasta.

First-floor exterior that doesn't look like a jokbal restaurant
Clean interior with orange seating

The seats are a pretty orange, so the interior felt surprisingly stylish lol. It looked spotless, probably because it opened recently. There were groups having dinner parties too, and since they push the tables together for them, it seems like a really comfortable spot for nearby office workers' get-togethers.

The restroom is neatly located inside the restaurant too, which is so nice!!

Kiosk ordering and the self-serve side dish bar

I ordered quickly at the kiosk and the side dishes came out just as fast. Kimchi, radish kimchi, scallion salad, sauce — all available at the self-serve bar so you can help yourself to more, which was great.

Free sundubu-jjigae and the fresh-fruit dipping sauce

The sundubu-jjigae that comes free is so good!! The flavor itself is bold — addictive enough that I wanted to eat it with a bowl of rice.

Free sundubu-jjigae served with the meal

I thought the sauce tasted unusual, and it turns out it's made by blending fresh fruit! That's why it wasn't salty at all — just tasty and refreshing.

Fresh fruit sauce made for the makguksu

Mix it all up and eat it with the bossam and it's so good,, usually you'd have to order this kind of side separately, but here it comes standard — confirmed great value. And it's not a small portion either.

And the bossam hasn't even arrived yet — the table is already full.

The tofu is incredibly soft. It's square but so soft that it was kind of surprising. Lots of ingredients in there too, and it's so good,,

Gabri bossam (medium) for 40,000 won: is small enough for two?

Gabri bossam, medium, 40,000 won. After eating it, I'd say two people would be fine even with the small size lol. We managed to clear it thanks to my boyfriend eating a lot after his workout.

Two-tiered stack of medium gabri bossam

The bossam is stacked up in two tiers like this. Really generous!!

The fat isn't greasy at all, just really nutty and savory,, the portion is so big that the medium would be a good amount for three women eating together.

The scallion salad has sauce on top too, and wrapping it in lettuce was delicious.

Eating it with radish kimchi is peak flavor haha

Eating it like this with the makguksu is also great!!

A bite combining bossam and makguksu

The makguksu is really sweet and tangy and delicious.

A tangy, sweet bite of makguksu

Wrapping it up in a lettuce wrap works well too.

Tender, soft bossam. It was more nutty than greasy.

I couldn't hold back halfway through and casually ordered a bottle of beer haha

It looks refreshing just to see it. Cheers.

We went back for more cabbage kimchi and radish kimchi. At the self-serve bar, I made sure to only take exactly as much as we'd eat, no leftovers.

Patbingsu served on request after the meal

Once we finished eating, we asked for patbingsu and got it~~~

Patbingsu served in a large bowl

I thought the portion would be small, but they gave us this huge bowl lol. We ended up not being able to finish it ㅠㅠ

They shave the ice fresh right from the ice machine, so it's genuinely cold and refreshing.

Shaved ice topped with cereal, bean powder, red beans, and condensed milk

Cereal, bean powder, red beans, condensed milk. Just the basics, but tasty and a good palate cleanser. The bossam was so good that I have to wonder how good the jokbal — the dish in the restaurant's name — must be. They also sell a lunch set, so it'd be nice to come for a light lunch too.

Table view after finishing the meal

Seokchon Lake walk after dinner, plus reservation tips

We ordered the medium and ate until we were truly stuffed at this Jamsil bossam spot, Narae Jokbal Songpa Direct Branch. After the delicious meal, the weather was nice so we walked over to Seokchon Lake to help digest. A really great date course~~

Atmospheric outdoor seating in front of the restaurant

Walking out after the meal, I noticed these even more atmospheric outdoor seats. On a day like this when the heat has finally broken, eating outside would be so nice >< Naver Reservations are available for groups of 1–4, and they can seat up to 50 people for group parties! Narae Jokbal Songpa Direct Branch, a bossam spot on Songni-dan-gil that also does delivery and takeout — a solid Jamsil find!
