Sushi restaurant in Sodam-dong, Sejong: salmon and seared salmon sushi

It's been ages since I went out to Sejong~ After visiting the National Sejong Arboretum, I headed to dinner at Sushi Resto Sejong Sodam Main Branch, a sushi spot near Sejong City Hall. The clean interior was great, and everything from sashimi to sushi was delicious — let me introduce it right away haha.

Where is Sushi Resto Sejong Sodam Main Branch, and where do you park?

Sushi Resto Sejong Sodam Main Branch is on the 2nd floor of Icom Star City, 93 Sodam-ro, Sejong. Parking matters, and you can park comfortably in the building's basement lot, then take the elevator up to the 2nd floor!

The exterior. There were chairs in front of the store, so I wondered if they were waiting seats. We visited on a weekend early evening, and I saw couples and families dining. There were also a lot of delivery orders coming through~ I felt like I'd found the right sushi spot, and got curious about the taste.

Inside Sushi Resto Sejong Sodam: bar counter, group tables and a private room

The interior of Sushi Resto Sejong Sodam Main Branch is a bright, clean white-and-wood combination. On one side, a video was playing from a beam projector.

There's a bar table good for sitting side by side and chatting, plus 4-person and 6-person tables. There are group tables and a cozy, private room too, so it would be great for a group visit haha.

Menu at Sushi Resto Sejong Sodam and how kiosk ordering works

The menu at Sushi Resto Sejong Sodam Main Branch is divided into sets, sushi, noodles, fried dishes, rice bowls, rolls, and sashimi. You can check the menu and order via the kiosk.

Compared to other sushi restaurants, I got to see such a wide variety of menu items. There were really so many that I couldn't photograph them all, unfortunately. Next time I'd like to try the combo of sashimi, kaisendon (seafood rice bowl), and cream udon~ If you love sushi and sashimi, I think everyone would like this place. There were also set menus by party size, which looked convenient for ordering.

Rakkyo (pickled shallots), pickled ginger, and soy sauce on the table. They were checked in advance and set out right as the food arrived.

The salad and udon that come with every sushi order

At Sushi Resto Sejong Sodam Main Branch, the salad and udon came out first. The cabbage was topped with nutty black sesame sauce, and you could choose between udon and soba noodles.

On a hot day, cool soba would be nicer, but I personally think udon pairs better with sushi, so I chose that — and it was so good.

What's in the Recommended Sushi, 18,000 won for 12 pieces?

The Recommended Sushi comes with 12 pieces for ₩18,000. It's made up of 3 whitefish, salmon, 2 seared salmon, tuna, egg, conch, and 3 types of shrimp.

Everything we ordered, all here!! The sushi looked so colorful and vivid. It came out so neat and pretty that I took a ton of photos. Just a note — the udon and salad each came out individually and aren't shown in this photo, but there's one more of each~

The Recommended Sushi looks so pretty, with a nice variety and quite a satisfying selection of fish.

Salmon & Seared Salmon Sushi, 20,000 won: half raw, half seared

The Salmon & Seared Salmon Sushi comes with 10 pieces for ₩20,000. This is the one I picked — I'd recently been craving salmon and came out for sushi, and when I saw a half-seared, half-raw option I ordered it right away~ The seared salmon sushi has its own subtle charm, different from the raw salmon sushi!

Ta-da~ Eating one piece at a time, the plate was empty before I knew it. It was nice that extra wasabi was served separately so you could add as much as you wanted.

The raw salmon was soft and melted in your mouth, while the seared salmon felt richer and even more tender!! Both were delicious~ My friend who had the Recommended Sushi said the three types of shrimp were the best haha. Even writing this post is making me crave sushi again.

Register your parking before you leave Icom Star City

The building's parking lot allows 2 hours, so before you leave, make sure to enter it into the tablet machine near the entrance~ The default is 1 hour, so you need to press it twice to get 2 hours.
